Going to BE UGLY
Re: Going to BE UGLY
One of the worst things this country ever did was taking our monetary system off the gold standard. The worst thing we ever did was the New Deal. I've said it before, if you are interested in reading how this country got into the shape it's in read "New Deal or Raw Deal, How FDR's Economic Legacy Has Damaged America"
Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote. Benjamin Franklin.

I agree, but good gosh if you learned anything in American History you would have thought FDR hung the moon.

Seriously? a CEO of a company, that operates in this country, doesnt care about the future of this country ?Plainsman04 wrote:....I think it's a farce to believe that most of the fat cats at these big companies are conservative Republicans. I think most will vote for whoever gives their company the best advantage. They don't give a dern about the future of the country. They just need a favor.

Sometimes you just have to close your eyes, count to ten, take a deep breath and remind yourself that you wouldn't look good in prison stripes... and just smile at that dumbass and walk away.

Not to start an argument but I agree.
1. If our business leaders were looking out for us then why did they outsource so many of our jobs. Our labor force could never compete against someone willing to make 50 cents a day.
2. Fox news two nights ago. 1,400 millionaries paid no taxes in 2008. I am not saying they did any thing wrong but something must be wrong with our tax laws that would allow this so why is no one in our Gov. trying to fix. Can you say money, payoffs and greed.
3. Companies like GE pay no taxes at all. I wonder how many more.
4. Again Fox news. Companies have trillions stashed in off shore bank accounts so they do not have to pay taxes. Money made by paying employees 50 cents a day but selling in the good old US of A for the same price as before the cheap labor and pocketing the difference.
5. How many people do you know have been layed off so that said company could hire someone younger........and a lot cheaper.
I am not saying all companies are like this but most are in my most humble opinion. The employees no longer matter....all that matters is the almighty dollar. The days of companies being proud of taking care of their employees are long gone. It is unfortunate.

Nail head, meet 50 lb sledge hammer. You want to solve all this? Flat federal sales tax, do away with all of the Federal income tax and those stupids codes. You turn 90% of the IRS and Dept of Education employees into Immigration Agents so they can legalize the illegals and get them to start paying taxes IMMEDIATELY. Then, here's the biggest and most important, TERM LIMIT CONGRESS! 2 terms and done, no super pension, no Cadillac health plan, no retirement, nothing but a handshake and thank you for serving the people. Not too tough IMO...OBDUCKS wrote:Not to start an argument but I agree.
