This is for all you snake killers..

Postby MSDuckmen » Wed Jun 23, 2004 8:47 am

One of my associates emails this to me asking what kind of snake this was. They said they killed it in their garden..
I replied back telling them it was a dead snake. Found around humans in every part of the country you go to. :?

I have no idea what kind it is but it sure is a pretty thing to just kill because it is a snake.

That would be a Venemous Fangalicious. They are known to have venom so powerful they can kill 100+ men with one drop. Not to mention their desire and love to kill small children. Espically girls.

Oh my bad. Actually it is a mud snake. There isn't anything wrong with introducing a snake to the end of a hoe. Ra

If you've never seen one of these up close.....they ARE really pretty. It was crimson red on the belly and jet black on top. I've only seen one in my 50 years........and it was the victim of an encounter with a vehicle.

Also colloquially refered to as the "stinging snake", a misnomer if ever there were. Uncommon even in the delta, like Pewee said.

snake

Postby Tree Dr. » Wed Jun 23, 2004 7:29 pm

that is a real pretty snake . Every year they have a siminar on snakes of Mississippi, it is real educational and tells a lot about the different snakes . I have let 8 Rattlesnakes live since i saw this siminar I have probably caught 10 or 12 chicken , king , pine , spredding adder, a bunch of water snakes that look a lot like a mockison . if you give them a little room they will go the other way , except the cottonmouth, he is bad & he will stand his ground , I know . I have killed a many of thim in self defence frog gigging.

Yep, dead mud snake. I have actually seen a couple of those in whitesand creek in rural Jefferson Davis county, back home. I once saw a mud snake swim between Robert Barns' legs... he was standing in about 2 foot of water and one swam right between his legs. We had to get out of the creek for a few minutes caused he pissed in it when that happened... :D

They are a unique colored snake.

Is a spredding adder an Eastern Hognose snake. I use to hear old people call hognoses spreading adders. My granddaddy used to talk about a snake called a rattlesnake pilot, yall ever heard that one? Ofcourse, there's no such thing, but I wonder what he was talking about......
