I have an 11 yr old girl at the house right now that's had 2 surgeries to remove 3 seperate masses; (1 around the heart and 2 around the lungs). They told us that she was on borrowed time and didn't think she'd make out of surgery. It was that serious! If she did make it out of surgery, she would only have 6 months max...
That was over 2 years ago and even though the cancer has come back (verified through follow-up check-up's), she's hanging in there. We have decided that we will not put her through any more surgeries. She's been through enough. Over all, she has no pain or discomfort of any kind and getting around pretty darn well, despite the arthritis. The vet's are amazed and call her a miracle dog! We play it day by day with her until the time comes... We are hoping that she lives her normal lifespan before it beats her. Hell, she may very well out live it! We are saying or prayers and keeping our fingers crossed!

Mark, they are tougher than we know. You never know what final cards will be delt, until they are... Keep the the faith brother.

I'm praying for Ol' Chief!

Hail to the Chief.

Mark, he's a great dog. I hope all goes well for him. He is very sneaky, and a bit of a Houdini, so that should be working for him in beating this thing. I've still got a hunting jacket with a hole in it (patched over) that reminds me of the Chief every time I wear it. Fond memories of ol Chief.

Good luck. Looking forward to seeing Chief in the Wooly Swamp again this coming season.
