proposed dates are out for LA and TX, they almost always stick to those. I am already using them to plan vacations, and try to get extra days by hitting multiple zones.

Do we as hunters have any say in this.. we caught to much flack years ago and fought to hard to get our season extended to the last sun in Jan.. we should always take advantage of that. I'd hate to see the season end on the 22nd when it could end on the 29th

Those last 2 weeks are OFTEN the best hunting of the year. If you ever quit using it you will never get it back. I say leave off the whole month of November if that will give us the last week of January.

Re: 2011-2012 season
I called MDWFP and asked who headed the committee that set the dates.....man I spoke asked for my name and number and they said they would get back to me.............does anybody have an email address of someone on that committee.

MDWFP just called back and said all dates had not been set but season would close last Sunday in January..........Thanks to Chad at MDWFP for the quick response.

My prediction: Saturday, November 26 - Sunday, November 27; Saturday, December 3 - Sunday, January 29. If my count is right, that's exactly 60 days.
However, I would love to see the season run Friday, November 25 - Sunday, November 27; then December 3 -24; December 26- January 29.

Re: 2011-2012 season
They'll start from the last possible day the season can be open and work backwards through the winter, using 60 days. Latest possible open date and utilize as many weekends as possible. Just a hunch

Re: 2011-2012 season
they make sure they have the weekend warriors covered! How dare them close the season over the weekend!
May the wind always be at your back and the sun upon your face, and may the wings of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars.
