I do not use a cover scent often, but when i do I like to use one I make myself. It is very strong and natural. When pecan trees have green pecans on them you can squeeze the juice out of the green covers on the pecans. The juice has a very strong fragrance and it is fairly sticky. You would be suprised at how much you can squeeze out of these. Keeps very well too. Persimmons also make give off a strong odor when mashed up, but would rather use them same day I am hunting. Mashed persimmons do not keep very well.

I think its all a little overrated. I'll use acorn during bow season thats about the extent of my cover scent. The sock thing sounds pretty ingenious though. Simple and cheap, 2 of my favorite words.

I think JGC has it pegged.....Just leave a trail of Satsumas and chocolate wrappers!
