Orange Beach Fishing Trip

Postby huntersmky » Thu Jul 14, 2011 8:46 am

Could someone shoot me a pm or post a good fishing charter to take in Orange Beach. I'm not sure if they want a 4 or 8 hour trip but what would the estimated cost be for 2 people on a trip?

are you looking at splitting it between 2 groups or just two people going? How many people you got going I guess is what I am asking. You wanting a boat to yourself or a "head boat"

it's not for me but for two friends. They will share the boat with someone if that "doable", i've never been and neither have they so I don't know what to expect or what questions to ask. Just looking for a good experience for them for their first time out. It's a guy and his girlfriend, both in their 30's. 4 hour trip will suffice more than likely

Tell them to go down to perdio key marina(i think thats still the name) and get on a head boat. May need to book a few days ahead of time. If they were wanting to get the boat all by themselves or split it, that would take alot more coin. Plus you'd have to get with the captain and see if they had another smaller group that would want to split it up. May be a hassle. Not sure where all the head boats dock down there, but used to it was at perdio pass marina.

If they have never been i would suggest 4 hours. If one were to get sea sick 8 hours of hurling makes for a long day.

Snapper fishing closes July 18th. Any 4-6 hour offshore shore trips would target king and spanish. On Dauphin Island, Joey Abruscato (A-team charters) offers a half day trip for trout, and will also fish for triple tail and the bull reds on Dixie Bar. Joey will gladly pick up charters at Fort Morgan Marina. After fishing, tour the fort, its one of Alabama's best beach attractions.

been there done that.. took my young son for a 6 hr off shore trip last year. the poor thing puked the entire time, stopping only when the boat did so he could bring up a few reds.

We went again a couple weeks ago, this time I gave him 2 Bonine pills ahead of time. Made a world of difference and he actually enjoyed this one.

This year, we took a 4 hour charter out of the ft. morgan marina. our boat was the "Miss Carli".. http://www.gulfshoresyachtclubandmarina ... #MissCarli Super nice folks, they made sure the kids on the trip had a good time.

The price for the charter usually is a set price, based on how long your out (4,6,8 hrs). We always just divide the price by the total folks. Don't forget a tip to the deck hand ..

I am going in the morning on a 10 hr trip out of zekes. Theu offer walk on trips to book a day ahead, bur snapper season closes this next week so they will only target mackeral(spanish, king). I would suggest something on mobile bay. We have caight some good trout and reds off there this week. There is a guy that goes out of bon secour thats good on dixie bar. I have had my toes in the water and ass in the sand all day with drink flowin so excuse spelling.
Damn, i thought I had that one

Is that buddy of yours tryin to blow that call or make love to it?

Call Outlaws marina in Orange beach. There is a captain there that has an open 27 ft boat that can fish 6 people. This guy knows how to target fish. I went out opening weekend of snapper season and after we had our limit he put us on white and black snapper. We fished 5 people and of the 10 red snapper we kept we had 7 over 15lbs. We had a boat load of fish when everyone else had a limit of red snapper but nothing else but a king or 2. The day red snapper goes out amberjack opens back up. This captain charges $115 an hour for up to an 8 hour trip. There is no tip or fish cleaning charge either.

Completely forgot about snapper season closing. If they are looking for "eating fish" I would say do an inshore trip. Spanish and kings are fun, but im not that fond of them on the table. You're not gonna get into much righ now on a short trip besides snapper.
