Has Tim Reynolds been mentioned? Say what you will about Dave Matthews but when they recorded Live at Luther College it was acoustic guitar genius. That little dude can straight up play.

If you mention great drummers and the first words that come out of you mouth are not "Neil Peart".....die

Good one about Tool's Pot though
I call your Pot and raise you a Vicarious and Stinkfist. Justin Chancellor/Paul D'Amour on bass and Adam Jones on guitar create the most intricate riffs in prog rock and most styles of music today. All 4 of Tool's albums melt your face and rock your brains out. Just got done listening to 10,000 Days album again....

Here is one of my Warren Haynes favorites, Catfish Blues. Joker is tuuuff on a slide. When he tears into that solo at 6:05 it makes want to just give a cop the finger.

Then reasoning sets in, of course.

Although it has been posted a few times, Jimmy Page has some of the most influential riffs and a style that no one has yet to mimic. His work in the The Song Remains The Same soundtrack live at the Gardens is nothing short of brilliant. Everything from his '59 Les Pauls to that unmistakable tone is something many inspiring guitarist try to emulate. While the guitarists listed in this thread are all good, few have the versatility as Page IMO; he was the brains behind Zepp producing all of their albums and for his writing both lyrically and musically. Here's a blues example that I enjoy watching....

Since I Been Lovin' You: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flcF4vNa61U 3:54 it starts to get interesting

Dazed and Confused with the San Francisco excerpt at the end. Also has a few good shots of Bonzo and Jonsey. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wewu45XS ... re=related Full song last about 30 minutes...

Bron Yr Aur is classical piece that shows another side of Page. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBHPcAv1 ... re=related

It Might Get Loud is pretty cool documentary about 3 guitarist that anyone who loves guitar should watch. Features The Edge from U2, Jack White, and Jimmy Page. Here is an excerpt from the movie....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r56Ef_tAMaI

Jack White is another player that deserves some credit. He can straight up jam.

Don Felder and crazy Joe Walsh of the Eagles. Here is one of Walsh's songs performed by the Eagles... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-Vy3iwYdaQ

Here is a Jimi Hendrix jam that deserves a listen... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9GxtGae ... re=related
