+1. Ive never been into prince and didnt realize played until watching the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction of George Harrison, i think. They had an "allstar" group play When My Guitar Gently Weeps. Prince was the lead and wore it out. I mean really played his booty off. Impressive.

Youtube- he comes in about the 3:00 minute mark. Fast forward to that

All great guitarist I could name have been mentioned. Bad booty bassist is the Red Hot Chili Peppers guy.....their drummer is awesome too and he looks just like Will Ferrell. One of the best bass lines ever is in Tool's "Pot" imo...link below.

If you mention great drummers and the first words that come out of you mouth are not "Neil Peart".....die

Good one about Tool's Pot though

Rush is a collection of some of the greatest musicians of their generation. Neil Peart (drums - hands down, the best), Geddy Lee (bass - arguably the best), and Alex Lifeson (guitar - I'd say top 20)... no way 3 guys should be able to turn out music that great.

If the discussion turns to drummers I'm going with John Bonham..

One name not mentioned that I think belongs on this list is Carlos Santana. Very unappreciated for a guy who has been rocking for a long time.

My top 3 goes like this though
1. Hendrix
2. Eddie Van Halen
3. Tom Morello - Absolute genius on guitar. Can make the guitar do things people only dream about.

+1 on Santana. What about B.B. King? Saw him last year and he can still play his booty off for about a 5 minute burst.

Steve Vai, Eric johnson, Joe Satriani on guitar.
Billy Sheehan, Les Claypool on bass.
Only one drummer, Vinnie Paul of the late Pantera who currently plays with HellYeah.
And speaking of Pantera, Dimebag Darryl was a beast of a player whom I have never seen covered on guitar.

Wow Steve Martin, I had no idea. He's a pretty good picker.

I think B.B. King is great, as most do. But I keep waiting for him to come out with a signature series B.B. King bra for those man titties he has.
