I am looking into another pedigree to add to my kennel. I was wondering if anyone has any information about this particular pedigree? I looked through the generations of these pups and here are some of the names
Candlewoods Stormy Bear
Candlewoods Nestle Quick
Candlewoods Tanks Alot
Candlewoods Texas Ranger
Candlewoods Super Tanker
Snake Eyes Double or nothin
There are more through the generations that have some titles but these are the ones I were told ment the most. Maybe someone has heard of these dogs before.
Any help will be appreciated

Question about pedigree
These dogs I know to be outstanding, especially Candlewoods Tanks Alot , whose call name is "Lottie". She was one of the top Field Trial dogs of all time and threw a lot of offspring who were titled dogs (Field Champion-FC or Amateur Field Champion-AFC).
Candlewoods Tanks Alot
Candlewoods Texas Ranger
Candlewoods Super Tanker
Snake Eyes Double or nothin
The "Candlewoods" kennel is in Wisconsin, a top place for Lab trainers and breeders. The owner, Mary Howley, is agruably the top breeder in the USA. She is probably the top breeder of Yelow Labs in the USA.
The thing to look for is how far back does the Pedigree go. If a pup was sired or born to any of these dogs then the Pedigree is perfect. It the dogs show up on a pedigree further back, then the Pedifgree is "watered down", depending on how many generations back the top dogs were.
Good luck.

i see a 3x National Field Champ bitch dog (Lottie) which hasn't been topped yet, a 2x National Field Champ stud dog (Tank), and i believe a Grand Hunting Retriever Champion in the last one..... not too shabby.
Snake Eyes, San Jaquin Honcho, and Tanker are hands down the bedrock of super retrievers. Course that is some old stuff and your talking about building a line with grandkids and greatgrandkids and even great grandkids.
Lottie "best dog ever" is a bitch so didn't breed in reality that often so didn't improve the breed that much genetically.
By the question you asked I would have to say your wanting to tap into something and say you have a line when in fact your pretty far down what really counts.
In other words, don't offer a stud dog at your kennel unless it is titled and awesome. You may offer pups for your own well bred brood bitches and that would be your line from the mommas side.

Ya wrote... but these are the ones I were told ment the most. Welp, the parents mean the most. The futher you get from some of those big dogs, they less it means. If the parents didnt do squat, it dont mean much. If the parents didnt do squat, and the grand parents either, the great grand father means nothing. Eastwoods is right on da money. travis
If I was a breeder, and wanted to sell quality pups I would first pay 2K to 4K for great bred brood bitches out of FC titled dams and FC titled sires. I wouldn't train them hardly at all. Everything I did for them would be just to keep them in shape for breeding. I would look to get 4 to 5 broods in their lifetime. As with first fruits the first generations would be the best that is have the most hybrid vigor. For example the first strawberry is actually the biggest, first cotton boll is a five lock, first calf is the one to keep for breeding.
Next I would buy frozen semen have the vet AI the bitches when the time was right. I would pay approx. $750.00 for one of the top five dogs in any given years semen. There is never more than 5 top sires in any given year and that's the ones that the pups will sell. I would sell the pups for exactly that $750. Your probably gonna average 7 pups so that would 5,200 gross if I figured right.
So basically you might break even with the first litter and it takes 3 years. I actually think it would be more fun than training one dog hard for ribbons and you would actually be improving the breed.

750 wont touch a stud fee to one of the big ens... ford is like 2500 bucks... jamie is 1200-1500... dunno whut the big 3 get (auggie/tiger/carbon) but its nuff for their owners to buy gum, thats for sure, and the auggie puppy I just bought for 800 was a steal, 1250 outta a mh bitch was the next lowest priced one I had found. Seems like everyone I know in recent history that bred to a big name fc, has lost money on the litter. If someone was 'known' for breeding, and had produced results, then a well bred brood bitch might be a posssiblty , but an upstart no matter how well bred the bitch is, would never sell the puppies for enough to make it come out, let alone be profitable.. couldnt get the sales, and couldnt place the puppies with the people to make results happen. Vicous cycle aint it... hehe. travis
