To try and add a little humor to this thread, as I check it just about everyday for updates....

Sonya you and Mark likely ought to not tell the Dr's at LSU your thoughts on their football and sports teams.

Sorry I couldn't pass that up, We are all really hoping that EMD's problems are fully diagnosed and a cure is found fast.

Jeff,

You're not saying anything I haven't thought. :)

I think it is pretty dang obvious how much I love that dawg for me to be road-tripping to StarkVegas & the land of purple & gold without a hunt test or some kind of SEC sports action on tap. :D

Mark/Sonya,

I know how frustrating and stressful it is to have test after test ran with seemingly no end. Keep your heads up and stay positive. It has been the only thing that has kept me going through our issues with our Tucker dog. But the good news is went back to MSU today for a check up and got the first positive diagnosis that we have had in a while. Docs told us we could start back with some light training (water work) to help build back his muscles he lost during the steroid treatment.

Praying that EMD returns to full duty very soon!

Oh and just think of the shaved areas as light weighting and streamlining! Ours had seven patches the first go around and has been shaved to look like a greyhound this go around!

I am glad you have some good news on Tucker! Your doggie will be overjoyed to start doing some work again.

EMD'd shaved patches are turning black just in time to get shaved again, it seems.

Hopefully, EMD will get some good news one of these days. I hope she does not get "white labratory coat anxiety" from being left at so many different clinics at strange SEC schools!

GC, I know what you are talking about with the hair growing back just in time to get shaved. It got to the point that I asked the doctor to put a little fade in the last time he got shaved. His front leg got shaved so much the he had razor burn! We spent so much time at MSU the doctors knew Tuckers temperment and could look at him and tell how he was feeling. Needless to say he has been a dog of interest at the vet school because of his unique case.

Hope all goes well next week!

Jake said it looked like Ellie Mae had a series of "reverse mohawks" last Saturday when we had her out. I had to catch her to prevent her from hitting the big flying Macho Man Memorial Elbow Smash on him from the top of the dogg box. It might have ended up like that "fade to black" in the The Wrestler. Too much violence in training these days.

Just got home from our latest road trip to an SEC campus. The folks at LSU Vet School were most gracious. EMD's doc there is Dr. Pariaut, who is heading up a research project that HRC has supported with grant $$.

Dr. Pariaut did a follow-up echocardiogram (heart ultrasound). Good news there is no significant change in that compared to what MSU saw.

We have her home in another Holter Monitor to get a full reading in her natural environment instead of in a crate in ICU at the vet hospital.

More details when we know more.

Copiah Creek, I left a baggy of her favorite dog treats for the vet techs to give, hoping to relieve some anxiety. She would not take a single one. She just wanted her MOMMIE!!!

!Back!, this doc is FRENCH & I talked to Dr. Eddy from MSU today too, so I got to hear his Aussie accent too.

Sonya, glad things are at least not getting worse. I know she must be miserable with that holter on. My daughter had to were one once and she hated it and it was only a small box and wires. But she was in highschool and had to wear it to school. Hug Ellie for me.

Well, I have to tell everyone that getting that Holter monitor removed was quite the event at Pet Harbor on Friday afternoon! I think the only staff left up front or anywhere else in the clinic was maybe one lady answering the phone!

When EMD arrives at Pet Harbor, she IMMEDIATELY goes to the scale in the hallway, hops on it and sits down with tail wagging. The girl likes to know what she's supposed to do, when & where. :D

Here's the new "do" our girl is sporting right now:

The one on the top of her back is VERY TICKLISH if you touch it just right.

She's pretty antsy to work right now, but it is too hot to do much, and I want GulfCoast to watch out what kind of cover she goes through until the shaved spots on her chest toughen up a bit & have at least a little fuz on them.

We are walking regularly, and her energy level appears to be high.

GC took care of FedExing the Holter monitor back to LSU from the office today. They said they'd let us know right away if there was anything of immediate concern, and that it would then take about a week for them to read the entire thing.
