Something to keep in mind....

If you are thinking Costas, they just re did their optical lens system and now offer the same lenses that they offer in non RX glasses in prescription. This has been a problem for years. You can now have the same wave 580 vision out of costas with a prescription that you have in the non prescription glasses. They do NOT have a quick turnaround time on them, but we have done about for pairs in the last month and they come out nice!

If you already have your perscription, try www.zennioptical.com. You can pick frames and they will deliver to your house for cheap. I've ordered prescription glasses and sunglasses. Same quality as if you got them from eye doctor. Takes about a week to 10 days.

I NEVER wore sunglasses until I went to work for the State. Eye doc said I was getting "callouses" on my eyes from sand and grit blowing in them. He recommended Costas and I had my first pair for about 6 years. They broke last winter and it's time for an updated Rx anyway. Looking for another pair now. Working the water w/o shades is killing me.

What he was referring to with "callouses" is called a Pinguecula and is common the closer the the equator you get. You can add UV radiation to that list of causes. Sunglasses are a good recommendation.
