Re: Tomato Plants?
this year,
we planted marion, celebrity, cherokee purple, early girl, and better boy. At our store, we sell these varieties, plus beefsteak, better bush, big boy, creole, and brandywine. All sell very well, but marion and better boy sell the best.

I found a flat of Amelia several years ago and planted them and they were some fine tastin' tomatoes but they weren't real big maybe about a baseball size.
While were on the subject I also bought this thing called wallofwater that you set up and fill each hole with water, it stood about 18" high and formed a barrier around the tomato. The pack came with three of them I planted three early girls and lookie here:

Been eating red tomatoes for a week and half now.

Lucky is right, that and he got started when I wish I had. I have some green maters, but am a long way from eating anything ripe for sure. Hoping I'll be there by 4th of July!
Re: Tomato Plants?
I've been picking (can't stand a mater) cherry maters for two weeks now. Got three plants so far off suckles in the ground, with two more waiting to grow roots. My LA Long Green eggplant is finally starting to make eggplants. Got some Burpless Cucumbers soon to be picked. Won't do good on them though, ended up planting the two plants in a bad spot in the beds.

I'd rather be lucky than good!

Re: Tomato Plants?
First year to plant but went with: Buh Early Girl Hybrid, it has 9 on it now. Looks really healthy. Also planted better boy just because I was told to plant those. They both are putting out good. I planted in April. Put some sulfate and urea on them first and put a little more urea on today.
