BIG TIMBER wrote:He was probably there to watch for boaters that could access Grand Gulf, the nuclear plant. It is probably still a terrorist threat. In a boat you can get real close to the plant right now.
Sounds like some Obama care bs. I dont need the guberment taking care of my every need. You may need em. I don't need a power company telling me I can't access my property.Steam wrote:Thanks stevea. These are the same people that would be crying about the looters if you guys were not there. They would be blaming the government and sayin that they should have sent people to guard their property. Be safe and thanks for all your efforts. Some of us really appreciate it.
Watch it there Turbo. I appreciate homeland security, local law enforcement, even rent a cops who patrol certain areas in an effort to secure my property from potential theives. I also know that it is extremely inconvenient for someone to tell you that you can't access your own property, but it is for your own good in the long run. I had the very same thing happen to me after Katrina. It won't be long and they will let you back in. Believe me, they have much larger problems than your "camps and weekend homes." And no this is not Obama care BS. They are simply doing their jobs that you elected them to do Brandon.quackheadbp wrote:Sounds like some Obama care bs. Why do these crazy people do half the $#!+ they do? I don't know, but seems like a logical reason, do you have one? From Yokena? Why not put in at Claiborne county port, Grand Gulf road, or better yet, why not drive right up to the plant in your vehicle?
Actually Stevea described it pretty good on the first page of this thread. My point is why take a boat to Grand Gulf, which will get you to within about a half mile of the plant (on the heavy haul road), when there is no security checkpoint to stop you from driving to within a few yards of the plant?BIG TIMBER wrote:Why do these crazy people do half the *!@#@* they do? I can promise you they know you are there even if you never pull up to a checkpoint.dukhntn wrote:Actually Stevea described it pretty good on the first page of this thread. No matter now though, since the guv'nor shut down all boat traffic.

So you can't do it.
Man, I love the people that tell me, "Well that levee is paid with taxpayer dollars so there ain't no good reason why I shouldn't be allowed to ride on it."
I never had a response for that until someone told me I should tell them that the jail was also built with taxpayer dollars.
