Memphis guys - downtown flooding questions

Postby quackhead11 » Mon May 09, 2011 9:01 am

I am supposed to be in Memphis May 18-20 and staying at the downtown Hampton. My wife and I have been looking forward to this trip for a while and have plans and reservations at some places downtown. Now with the flooding, I am wondering if I should roll the dice and keep everything as is and hope we can make it up there from Jackson and that most of downtown will be open or go ahead and cancel and look to go somewhere else.

Some of you guys who live in the area or know about the flooding and what is likely to be expected, I would certainly appreciate your thoughts.

You'll be fine. Bring your pistol and have a good time!

downtown memphis is fine and will remain that way. I work downtown and don't expect to run into any trouble. if anything, I think it would be a pretty historic time to come and see the river at this level. It likely/hopefully will not be at this point again in my lifetime.
