No Road to Omaha for Rebs.....

Postby Greenhead22 » Sat Jun 05, 2004 3:10 pm

Heck they couldn't even make it off Old Taylor Road....

Host your very first regional and go 2 and out.....priceless....

Guess they ended up being the actual #4 seed in that regional.

At least State won a game today.....hopefully will again tonight in a rematch game vs. Texas Tech.

Yeah.....I know what you mean........I really feel for them........NOT...

That's what Bianco gets for being cocky and holding out his #1 till Saturday because of the guaranteed victory over Western Ky.....

Wasn't his fault though......ended up not having any hitters that knew how to hit.....

Then Holliman starts today and goes 2/3 of an inning in strategy to start the late game tonight and tomorrow.........too bad the 2/3 of an inning yielded 5 runs.

Well, State just bit the bullet...

Up 7-4 in the 8th.....make an error.......leave a pitcher in 4 batters too long.....score now 12-7..........ends up 14-7.

Polk is the world's worst about leaving a pitcher in too long for whatever reason......and his 1000th win at MSU will have to wait till next season.

Well, we're still hangin' around, honestly I'm suprised my Dogs got this far!!! We're just not a baseball school, unlike our fellow statesmen the Gnat's (lets see Garciaparra, and Texiera, etc....pretty good baseball tradition for the Ramlin' wreck). Oh, well It'd be nice to see the Red & Black in Omaha, but I think Rice may be the team to beat, and of course the obvious choice Texas. I hate it for the Bullpup's and the Reb's, maybe next year!!!

"The NCAA tournament bracket announced Monday pits the winner of Tech's regional against the winner of Georgia's regional in a super regional June 11-13. If both teams win their regionals, as they're favored to do, they'll play a best-of-three series at Tech's Russ Chandler Stadium."

Tech and UGA are still both undefeated in their regionals... looks like there might be a  "friendly" three game series coming up in Hotlanta! Damn... I hope we win... I think I'll need something to hold onto when the football match-up comes this year

NO OMAHA FOR REBELS???

NO COTTON BOWL FOR THE MAROONS...COTTON BOWL???? HELL, WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME THE MAROONS HAD A WINNING SEASON IN FOOTBALL, MUCH LESS WENT TO A BOWL GAME???

NO FINAL FOUR, FINAL EIGHT, FINAL SIXTEEN, FINAL 32 FOR MAROONS...OH YEAH, THE 27-2 MAROONS LOST IN THE FIRST ROUND OF THE BIG DANCE....AGAIN...CAN YOU SAY BUTLER???

SURE THE REBELS CHOKED IN THE REGIONAL BUT NOT NEARLY AS BAD AS THE MAROONS CHOKED IN THE BIG DANCE...THE REBELS PEAKED IN MID-APRIL AND IT WAS ALL DOWNHILL FROM THERE...THE MAROONS WERE PLAYING GREAT BALL IN LATE FEBRUARY BUT WHEN IT WAS CRUNCH TIME, THEY TOTALLY SUCKED...ASKED VANDY...

AS FOR THE REBELS AND OMAHA, WE HOSTED OUR FIRST EVER REGIONAL, WHEREAS THE MAROONS DID NOT MAKE THE SEC TOURNEY...SCOREBOARD REBELS...

SEE YOU NEXT YEAR DAWGS WHEN HOLLIMAN, CUPPS AND MALONEY WILL BE VIRTUALLY UNHITTABLE...AND WE HAVE A NEW HITTING COACH....AS FOR THIS YEAR, WHO WON THE SEASON BASEBALL SERIES THIS YEAR: OLE MISS OR STATE?

GET A LIFE GH22...MOST MSDUCKS USERS KNOW BETTER THAN TO TRY TO DISCUSS OLE MISS AND STATE WITH YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE SUCH A BLATANT HOMER FOR SUCH A LOSER PROGRAM, BUT I COULD NOT RESIST...ONLY A MSU HOMER WOULD TAKE A SHOT AT OLE MISS WHEN WE WON THE SEASON SERIES IN BASEBALL AND HAD A BETTER YEAR IN THE SEC...

YOU HAVE BEEN HAMMERED...WILL YOU ADMIT IT AND JUST SHUT UP OR WILL YOU COME BACK WIHT SOME LAME ASS, HOMER TAKE?

yes i do like the disputes that arise b/w msu and um fans...

hammer states that msu is such a loser program. well thats fine hammer jammer man. but just remember one thing about this loser program. out of the big 3 sports (football, basketball and baseball) state rules.... um has fooball thats it. you won't overtake us in basketball or baseball as long as you natural born life goes on!!!!!!!!!!!

so if state is a loser program :::well i guess northern ms is as well...

dont fret hammer man the mannings will have a fresh batch in oxford in a couple of 2 or 3 decades.

oh yea you want to talk about choking.... what about that lou groza award winning kicker for um.. hell yes he choked. i'm still pissed about that. i actually wanted the rebs to take it to baton rouge but no noooonooooooooo he was wide not once but twice.

sucks for all us loser programs

later and as always good hunting

Cotton Bowl??? Been there......done that.....if the Ole Miss hadn't choked when the sec west championship was on the line you wouldn't have been at the cotton.

Ole Miss chokejob #1

NO FINAL FOUR, FINAL EIGHT, FINAL SIXTEEN, FINAL 32 FOR MAROONS...OH YEAH, THE 27-2 MAROONS LOST IN THE FIRST ROUND OF THE BIG DANCE....AGAIN...CAN YOU SAY BUTLER???

Final Four.....done it......Elite Eight........done it......Sweet Sixteen....done it.....32 field.........done it.......state lost to butler 2 yrs ago, not last yr........and by the way.........state made it to the 2nd Round......wanna talk about choking.......what about Ole Miss' super stud team in 98.........remember Valpo........Bryce Drew for 3.........it's good....it's good......Drew wins it........Drew wins it........Valpo wins.... When the last time Ole Miss made it and actually lasted past the 1st round huh?

Ole Miss chokejob #2

SURE THE REBELS CHOKED IN THE REGIONAL BUT NOT NEARLY AS BAD AS THE MAROONS CHOKED IN THE BIG DANCE...THE REBELS PEAKED IN MID-APRIL AND IT WAS ALL DOWNHILL FROM THERE...THE MAROONS WERE PLAYING GREAT BALL IN LATE FEBRUARY BUT WHEN IT WAS CRUNCH TIME, THEY TOTALLY SUCKED...ASKED VANDY...

Ole Miss had the sec west title locked up.......once again....this time in baseball.........and choked just like the braves. Better to not go to the tourney if you just plan to stay for only 2 games.....State didn't lose anything by not going to the tourney.......but Ole Miss did........hadn't lost and you would've gotten an easier regional........but that powerhouse Western Kentucky threw a monkeywrench in the plans. You talk about Vandy? There were a ton of teams that lost to Vandy........probably the best starting rotation in the SEC..........but then again..........Ole Miss never had a starting rotation all season........pitch by committee.........gotta love it.... You talk about crunch time? It was crunch time the last 2 weeks for State and they lost only 1 game during that stretch......and was one out away from making that loss a win....how many did Ole Miss lose during that time period and after that?

Ole Miss chokejob #3

AS FOR THE REBELS AND OMAHA, WE HOSTED OUR FIRST EVER REGIONAL, WHEREAS THE MAROONS DID NOT MAKE THE SEC TOURNEY...SCOREBOARD REBELS...

Doesn't make a chit if you host if you can't even stay in your own damn regional till Sunday. State's hosted 20 regionals I believe......Ole Miss 1.....scoreboard---Bulldogs. Only 4 #1 seeds have ever gone 2 and out in a hosted regional......Ole Miss is now part of the elite..... Why should have state gone to the tourney? They weren't going to help their chances any by going.......it was all in the hands of the selection committee. State's been to 5 CWS's in the past 15 yrs.......when's the last time Ole Miss was even there.......oh yeah.......that's right.......they can barely get into a regional much less win a game or two. Bianco got arrogant and held out Holliman till the winner's bracket game against Tulane......too bad powerhouse WKU broke that chit up huh..... Then big bad Holliman lasted 2/3 of inning against Washington.........you can't beat Washington.......heck tell Bianco Boy to call Polk.......he'll find out how to beat them.......have beat them 5 of 6 times in regionals.

Ole Miss chokejob #4

SEE YOU NEXT YEAR DAWGS WHEN HOLLIMAN, CUPPS AND MALONEY WILL BE VIRTUALLY UNHITTABLE...AND WE HAVE A NEW HITTING COACH....AS FOR THIS YEAR, WHO WON THE SEASON BASEBALL SERIES THIS YEAR: OLE MISS OR STATE?

Virtually unhittable??? Holliman has decent stuff......and finds out so against good hitting times...........Cupps.........pitches good when he really wants to.........most time doesn't...........Maloney? more like baloney...
Pitches one decent game.........then gets blown out 2 straight........and to boot you didn't even list your best damn pitcher.......Stephen Head........geez....

You think a new hitting coach will help? Go recruit some actual "hitters" that can do their job come crunch time.......then you might have something. So what if Ole Miss beat us 3 of 4 this season..........bout time they beat us.........we've won every series year end.........year out........and Ole Miss hated facing State come sec tourney time.....I can remember on a few occasions where Ole Miss lost twice to State. Like an ole miss fan said one day to me.......Ole Miss could beat State 10 times in a row..........but when it came down to the big one Ole Miss choked.....pretty much sums Ole Miss up in every sport...... Too bad ole miss never gets a chance to even come close to choking in basketball.

Ole Miss chokejob #5

Where do you get off telling me to get a life??? You can go to hizzell... So we are a losing program because of football.......so that's one facet that's lacking right now.............well then that would make Ole Miss a loser program also since their basketball program sucks hind tit now.....no mo provine posse for y'all... You had a better year in the SEC? So what............and least State can say they actually WON a game in the postseason.....

Ole Miss chokejob #6

YOU HAVE BEEN HAMMERED...WILL YOU ADMIT IT AND JUST SHUT UP OR WILL YOU COME BACK WIHT SOME LAME !@#, HOMER TAKE?

So I've been hammered huh??? Next time get some better material to use before starting to crap with me again........now can you dig that.............SUCKA........now who's da Homer huh?

Now you can insert your foot in your mouth now.........I'm finished. :D

FSU wins super-regional!

Postby noles97 » Sun Jun 06, 2004 9:20 pm

For what it's worth Florida State won it;s regional championship game today 19-3! It really does not matter though because our team will never win the whole thing it seems! We have been to Omaha like 25 times and never won it! We have even been the #1 seed like 5 times and still could not put it together. University of Miami will probably make it back to Omaha to, the are in thier 32 consecutive college world series now, that is pretty incredible (the record by far). Good luck to all the other teams Ga. Tech should have a good shot, they have a good team.
