I just got in from my brother's house in Fultondale just north of Birmingham. He and his wife are fine and their house has only very minor damage. they have a lot of trees down in all directions but by some miracle none landed on his house.

Like JCA said the damage looks like a small scale katrina. Little brother is a firefighter and the fire department had the roof ripped totally off and the bay doors were back on top of the trucks. I'll try to get some pictures up tomorrow. It was absolutely unbelievable.

I have a younger cousin that goes to bama. Her house was damaged pretty bad but she was unharmed thankfully.

yes it is unbeliveable. I went to fultondale yesterday to help people clear roads. Some neighborhoods are gone. I saw one street where every fourth house or so was gone. very scary. I'm not sure how some of the places like pleasant grove will get back to "normal" everything in site is gone.

The guy sitting on the curb on his cell phone is one of my friends that just built the Smoothie King franchise behind him. It was a total loss. Thank goodness for insurance. It will be a long time before tuscaloosa will be the same again(as much as I dislike the place...).

Guys, Most of you know that the rivalry between Auburn & Alabama is probably the most brutal around & honestly is downright ridonkulous at times, but this isn’t about rivalry. This is about putting our differences aside & helping people that need help! Tuscaloosa needs help – ours & yours!

The Central MS Auburn Club is helping the local Bama club collect items to be taken to Tuscaloosa.
I am asking fans of all other schools or anyone for that matter to participate as well.
Here’s what they need:
Food items that don’t require cooking
Baby care items- diapers, wipes, formula, etc
Personal care items- toothpaste, toothbrushes, hand sanitizer, deodorant, etc.
Pillows and blankets
Flashlights & Batteries

There are two drop off locations in the Metro, Brandon & Ridgeland.

Ridgeland:
Millie D's Frozen Yogurt 140 Township Avenue, Suite 112 at the township of Colony Park.

Brandon:
Parking lot @ First Baptist Church
309 South College Street, across from the Brandon Middle School
A sign will be attached to a truck there in the parking lot.

Please consider donating much needed items that will be delivered to Tuscaloosa on Sunday.
Collections will be received from 5:30 today (Friday) until 2:00 PM on Sunday.

Guys, this has been traumatic. I was over in Hackleburg today delivering food, drinks and materials to some crews from out of state. You could see 'yellow painted circles' all over the place. Talking to State Police and he said every circle represents where a body was found........no words, I tell ya.

I live in Tuscaloosa and the area is in total shock. It missed our house by about 3 miles. I have friends that have lost everything. The official death toll stood at 45 within the city limits but I have a friend who works at the VA and she said they had 30 bodies there that had not been identified or counted. They moved in heavy equipment this afternoon so I expect to see the count continue to rise. They found 4 people this afternoon buried in the rubble and 3 of them were alive. It's going to be a long road back but we will make it.
