Postby Johnboy114 » Sat Dec 08, 2001 1:47 pm

I found out today that i have a leak in my waders around the boat or lower leg. Does anyone know how to find the hole?
Thanks,
Matt

If the hole is not too small, you can fill em' up with water and squeeze them forceing the water downward. The water should shoot out the hole. Do it sometime this week so they'll have time to dry before next weekend. Only solution I've ever come up with.

soap the outside, run a air hose in and the hole will bubble.

Fill up the bath tub climb in and wait, Odds are that it is leaking around the seam where the "leg" and the "boot" meet, also I have found a product called "AQUASEAL" most any sporting good store will carry it, push your waders all the way down and place a generous bead around the seam. I would be willing to bet that this will cure your leaky wader problem. It seems as if I have a new hole some where every year, this year it was right in the seat of the waders, but it was nothing a piece of a shower liner and a little bit of GOOP would not fix, I am going on my 10th year with only my second pair of waders,

Flashlight, in a dark room, shine inside your waders, look for light. Then, get some SHOE GOO and use that to seal. Works great, can find in the shoe department at walmart usually.

First, FIX THE BOAT
Just joking around. I've filled waders
up with water to find leak, but you
will need a couple of people to hold
them up for you, they tend to get heavy
when full of water.
Have not tried airhose and soap.
Flashlight sounds like a good way. I'll
try it next time I need to find a hole
in my waders.

Everybody misspells sometime.
