Since it's the thing to do, I had $30 in my paypal so I went ahead and ordered me a pair of the headlamps.

I'm really interested in one of these:

But don't want to drop $40 if it's not worth it. But if it's reasonably durable, reliable, and as bright as they bright as they say it is, then it should be a great alternative to a bigger maglight since it should be way brighter (but doubt it's as strong).

Headlamps now $8.99 each with free shipping to the US.....just ordered a couple.

Yall ever used any of the NEBO flashlights? They look very similar and have alot of the same features of these lights on ebay (multiple LEDs, emergency signal setting and strong laser setting). I got one from a local hardware store for about $10 over a year ago and haven't been able to tear it up or wear it out.

Okay, I'm not letting this thread die. For anyone still wondering if these flashlights are really all they are cracked up to be, let me say that they are INCREDIBLE.
I have a surefire G2 (the very bright Halogen one) that runs about $50. It uses the expensive batteries and has a 60 continuous use life. I didn't think there were more than a couple other flashlights out there that could compare for less than $100.
These new headlamps put that thing to shame! It WAAAY brighter, and only $9! I shined it down the street last night looking for my dog when he ran out and it was as bright as a 1 million candle spotlight! And the zoom focus feature can put that spot to light up stuff at least a couple hundred yards away. And then it goes to the broad beam for lighting everything up close. I'd buy 100 more of these things if I could justify needing that many.
I'm definately buying the bigger Mag light sized one.

OK, so I finally got mine in the other day. I opened the package and was fairly unimpressed with what I saw. A couple of straps and a plastic battery housing case with a small bulb on front. I had forgotten about them until I went to take the garbage out to the curb around 10:30 last night when I saw them on the table by the door. I grab 3 AAA's and get them snug and snap the cap back on. I go out front and hit the switch. HOT DANGIT SON, this light is UNBELIEVABLE!!! I'm surprised the police didn't come check me out. My wife finally was able to drag me back in after 5 minutes or so, but not before I made her come out and see what I was so excited about. I texted/called several of my hunting buddies around 11 last night and they all thought I was crazy. This is BY FAR the best light that I've ever owned. It easily throws a tight beam 100 yards and has a great circumference (sp) for close up tracking if needed. I'm ordering quite a few more today. For $8, they can't be beat. Thanks for letting me know about these, and everyone that hasn't ordered one...please do. You will not be sorry. I'm like a kid on Christmas morning. :D
