My suggestion would be that if you do it do it right. Don't just shoot after the season is over, get 4-500 lbs of corn, sweet potatoes and a couple of caller ducks. Just shooting after season is over wouldn't be enough, if you are going to go to jail, at least go to jail in style.

i have a friend that was caught for baiting doves. they wooled him around for a year or so and finally his lawyer told him he was going to have to plead guilty or really get the book thrown at him. the fine was 5000.00 plus being wooled around and lawyer fees, etc. one day we were together and he asked me a question if we really "killed that many ducks that day." when i told him he said, "i will never ever violate the migatory bird laws again but if i see a shooter buck on the side of the road i'll shoot it because if i get caught the fine would only be 4 or 5 hundred dollars but the migatory bird violation would be too much." they got his attention. almost. he was caught shooting a "dummy" deer and paid a fine for that.
