A most memorable experience. Thank God

Postby Bigpoppa » Fri Dec 07, 2001 1:00 am

I took my 5 year old daughter yesterday on her first deer hunt. She was excellent. She got a little fidgety after about 30 minutes but we only had 30 minutes left. At about 5pm she(yes she) spotted 3 big does about 200 yards off. They walked straight to us and at 50 yards I told Kaitlin Bug to put her fingers in her ears and I dropped the doe in its tracks. I was curious how she would handle the whole death thing, but all she wanted to know was if it hurt and I said NO and then she said "Poppa can we eat it for supper?
It was a great experience and it is one she will remember forever. I have killed to many deer to count and several of them were good bucks, but this doe will be remembered for a lifetime.

The only thing she likes better than deer is a golden fried duck breast. That is her favorite. I'm training her right.

My baby girls was about 4 or 5 when I took her dove hunting. After the shoot we came back and started cleaning the birds. I will never forget her words after the first bird I cleaned. "Daddy, that sure is a good looking piece of meat."

She don't want me to kill does, only those bad boy deer. No rabbits.

Never forget!!

I know what you talking about the first time
with kid's hunting. My son got his first deer
this year on youth day a big doe. He is 8
years old. I don't know who was more excited.
