Mapping software question

I have been using several mapping websites with aerial photos where i can draw boundary lines and print them out. I recently used scribblemaps.com which is some sort of google thing. anyway, now i can't login to create a map or retrieve my old one.
The programs i used to use were mapmart.com and bing.com but they have all gotten so difficult to use and do not work like they used to. any suggestions???
anybody had problems with scribblemaps.com??
geez isn't anything so simple free anymore??? I'm using it for personal use and not selling any of the copyrighted material, nor am i trying to use it for commercial use.

some of the main features i am looking for are as follows:

calculating distance between two points of interest on an aerial map.

calculating surface area/acreage of an enclosed area.

printing for hard copy reference in the field

this mapper will do what you want, but not sure about simplicity. i don't know the sites you were using, as i use gis software for work, so i rarely, if ever, visit them. zoom in to the county of interest, under imagery, put a check in the box by 2007 (if it is grayed out, zoom in closer to activate it). not sure when the 2010 aerials will be incorporated into the mapper, but you can email maris to find out - here is a link to the home page http://www.maris.state.ms.us/home.htm

A bit off topic, but are the NAIP maps that I have to view on the Lizardtech software georeferenced? I thought on a previous version of the viewer, it would show a lat/long of the cursor. Mine isn't giving me lat/longs anymore... Is there another viewer I could use? This one is really quirky these days.

www.mapcard.com, it is not free. I think a yearly subscription is around $30. If i remember correct it will do everthing you want.

i haven't used the mrSid viewer in a while, so i don't know for sure. you should be able to get the lat/lon from the internet mapper....should be georeferenced in utm nad83 zone 15 or zone 16 (haven't done the '10s mstm, yet). the link below shows the prime meridian that splits mississippi's zones

I think the best option i have seen so far is www.mapcard.com

it is fairly inexpensive and seems to be able to do everything i want it to do.
Has anybody ever used it?? Not that i would be out a whole lot if i didnt like it.

I have used it seems to work well for me. I can put GPS coordinates in it and create coordinates in it. I use it for surveying to get me close to some corner that way i am not looking for them in the dark.

when it comes up, click "GIS Toolbox" and click the magnifier. you will basically draw a box from top left corner, diagonally down to bottom right corner to encompass the area of interest. once you are zoomed in, click "Imagery" in the top righthand corner of the mapper.

i've seen one for arkansas, but can't find it at the moment. if i'm not mistaken, it is through UofA. you may try to google arkansas NAIP or arkansas aerial photos (i think i used this one when i was looking for something just across the river from tunica). if i have time, and can remember to, i'll see if i can find it again and post it for you.

have found a site to download the naip files for tn, but no viewer to look at them with. you'll have to have mrSid viewer (lizardtech) or other gis software.
