I'd give it an 8...when you say ever with me it goes back a ways into the 70's so that clouds my rating a bit. Good season though with the usual challenges to overcome to make it all work...equipment failure, competition on public, etc. Made some new friends and had a lot of laughs. Killed more mallards this year than in the past 10 and averaged over seven ducks a hunt with several skunk days in the mix. Hunted 16 times with my son mostly and we killed 117..mostly mallards. Last day I went alone and got a limit of four mallards and two teal...great way to end the season. Killed the last greenhead at 11:48 and had to be done by noon.

East Mississippi I'll say a 9. About 60% woodies and teal and 40% mallards, timber was better than marsh. In the delta the timber was a 5-had some good days and bad days. Fields were an 8. Would have been a 10 but we sucked out on a draw at Howard Miller early in the season. Other than that the half a dozen or so field hunts ended up in party limits that were mixed. In harvest numbers in the fields we had 1) teal 2) mallard 3) pintail 4) shoveler 5) gadwall. Also had a few specklebellies, snows and wigeon and a black duck.

Overall I would say a 7. My dog was injured early on and we suffered because of it with lost birds. If not for that it would be a 9. There is always room for more mallards. :(

I'd have to give it about a 5

Hunted 3 or 4 times (more than last year)
Got:
A) 6 birds (less than last year)
B) A dog injury
C) A touch of the flu

10 here The best year I have ever had. Got me a gwt band on the last hunt to make it a little sweeter.

If I can get my 8 year old girl her first duck this weekend it will make it that much better

I'll give it a 9. Hunted plenty and shot plenty. Not quite as good as 08'-09' but pretty damn good overall. Loved the consistent cold fronts for a change!

I give it a 9....more mallards in some of my holes and earlier in the season than in several years. Had some of the most fun hunts ever and more memorable ones than in a long time.

I'll give it a solid 9...Take away closing week and it's a 12, but the last 5 days didn't treat me that well.

It could've been better for me but early on we had several big pushes of mallards that helped. Gadwalls saved us too though. Saw more widgeon than I've ever seen before. Not too shabby for Alabama at 317 ducks total and about 30 Canada geese. I give it a 9.

8/10 for December. Killing mallards regularly early was a nice treat. January was good, but the timing of weather and my availability to hunt conflicted. 7/10 for January.
