Congrats to The Waterfowler and his dog

Postby arduckslayer » Sun Jan 30, 2011 5:16 pm

Dad made it back over to the camp Thursday afternoon for some "location therapy". He needed to be back in his chair at the LLDC before the season was over. He took it easy Friday and Saturday morning, riding around and jump shooting a few ducks and geese. He actually WALKED out to a pit Saturday afternoon with my brother and a few good friends and was able to get his dog, Ace, his 7000th waterfowl retrieve just before quiting time. That's right, 7000. And all ducks and geese too, not the 1st dove. It's nothing short of a miracle that Dad is still here to hunt with us for many more years, and I'm proud of him and his dog's accomplishment. I love you Dad.

Thats awesome!!!! I have never even thought to keep up with number of retreives. I say every year that I am gonna start journaling and just never do it.

That's really cool. Ace is a true Master hunter retriever.

My brother was with him and has some of the retrieve. Maybe he'll post them.

You can't beleive how attached Ace is to Dad. He pays no attention to anybody else, except a little bit to me and Stephen (more to Stephen). Ramsey and Jeff had to put him on a leash to get him out of the field the other day. He wouldn't listen to either of them, but I don't blame him!!!
