Looking for some reviews on the Stoeger Model 2000. Anybody out there with one, please let me know what you think. I know there are better more expensive guns, but I am look for a gun that I won't constantly be think about $1200-$1500 when I am busting through briars, get caught in the rain, or drop it in the mud.
Thanks

Re: Stoeger Model 2000 Reviews
Buddy of mine has hunted with one for several years now as his duck and turkey gun. He's never had a problem.
Re: Stoeger Model 2000 Reviews
I bought one from Smith & Co. in Greenwood last year and have been very pleased with the way it shoots over two duck seasons. I've noticed a big improvement in my shooting with it compared to my 870 and browning pumps. I'm the same way about putting it through the muck and thinking about all the money it cost. Stoeger is owned by berretta, who also owns franchi and benelli. All the companies make their own version of the inertia guns. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with the Stoeger for the money. I did have a warranty repair that had to be made, but it was minor and I didn't have to send it off until after the season last year. They fixed it and sent it right back with no problems, and it hasn't had a hickup at all this season. I hunt with a few folks that have the Benelli SBEII's and one of them has had a few hang ups and gun frozen up, and my gun just kept on shooting. I think you'll be happy with it.

I have one and love it. I have had it about 5 years now. I had a Franchi before and also have a Browing Cynergy O/U duck gun, but my goto gun is the Stoeger.. I shoot it better and don't have to worry about messing it up.

i shot an m2000 for 2 seasons and loved it. couldnt make it jam. the only reason i got rid of it was i shoot 3.5s a good bit. as soon as the new stoeger m3500 comes out i will have one. best value on the market in my opinion.

It may have been discussed already, but Stoeger just came out (this week) with the new M3500 (3 1/2" chamber) semi-auto. It was presented at the Shot Show.
I went to see what it felt like, but neither BPS nor Avery knew anything about it. The gentlemen at BPS did look up in their system that they were supposed to receive a few, but thought it would be at least a month. He said it's going to retail there for $599.00 for the model 31800 (28" barrel, max-4 camo).

edit - I just received this email response from their customer service department:
Mr. ***,
The M3500 was just introduced at the Shot Show in Las Vegas on Tuesday.
Some of the item #'s we have in stock and should start shipping in about
7-10 days. The dealer will have to place orders for the guns as soon as possible before they become backordered.
Thank you for contacting Benelli USA/Stoeger Industries.

Re: Stoeger Model 2000 Reviews
Ive had mine for 3 years never had any problems til this year. Mine does the same as js said it just puts a dent in the second shot. My wife bought me an xtrema 2 for christmas so i havent taken it to see whats wrong. Cant beat the gun for the money though.
Re: Stoeger Model 2000 Reviews
I bought my girlfried one and she loves it. When she doesn't go I use it and will probably buy one in the off season. I have a 870, 1100, and a stoeger o/u and i shoot best with the 2000.
Re: Stoeger Model 2000 Reviews
I've had the stoeger for three years and have had the same problem with second shots. Take the gun apart and give it a good cleaning. Pay special attention to the spring , slide and outside of magazine tube. Scrub the tube good (I use diesel fuel). The problem you are having is the bolt isn't completely engaging and firing pin isn't reaching primer enough. I do this about two times a year and haven't had any more problems
