well theres a first time for everything. i have lost some good friends because i am no good at saying it "well" and that loss has made me strive to do a better job of it.

i will say that married men often do not give their unmarried friends an explanation when the wife is uncomfortable with a potetial situation, and if they do, it is not the whole story(for the whole story usually is too embarrassing to tell).

Your relationship is only as good as your trust is for her. I wouldn't have a problem with it. I trust my wife. Not saying I would trust the other guy, however I would trust my wife to do the right thing..

Well i do trust her totally, so I will trust her to do the right thing too. The trial is not till MArch so theres some time and things may change untill then. Thanks to everyone who chimed in.

I gave this scenario to my wife to get her view and she said your wife should have never even mentioned it. Respect goes both ways and for her to even suggest to you that she would stay with a guy she had a "relationship" with is not showing you much respect. Hate to be that blunt but you did ask.

I'd put it right back in my wife's lap if she ever put me in that position. I'd say, "Darlin', I respect and trust you to make the right choice. You know what the right thing to do is, so it's your call."

Then, you have to let her make the decision and the chips will fall as they may. But you were not the cause of it.

Yep, this is one of those "so, have you stopped beating your wife yet" type questions. Either way, you lose. It was wrong for her to put you in that position to make that kind of choice.
