Where can one get aluminum sheets to go in the bottom of a boat. I tried the county road department and believe it or not was told they aren't allowed to sell them to the public even if it makes the county money. There's a law against it as there is an apparent feer the government employee could be pocketing the money. The send them to the local recycle place.

Definitely use aluminum for flooring. Heck of a lot lighter and no concerns with rotting. I had purchased mildew resistant foam sheets (same thickness/depth as depth between ribs) - got it from a foam company in Memphis years ago. Easy to cut with a hand saw. From there, you can paint or carpet. If painting, you might want to check with Lowe's as they have the textured additive to make it non-slip. Good luck!

mcmaster.com is a source for the aluminum sheets and foam. If prices at this site aren't competitive, at least it's a source of what material is available in what sizes. It also gives a lot of info that can be useful on what kind of foam is needed for a certain application.

His aluminum welds look like Ray Charles did it..... Ricky Robertson, with Robertson Fabrication on Hwy 49 south of Greenwood does much better job on welding aluminum.
