catahoula's are the only way to go! research the breed they are the most capable all around dog out there. I have a friend that might be getting rid of his female because she wont keep her pregnacy, I'll let you know.

I agree on the Catahoula, great dogs. Labs make awesome tracking dogs but most won't bark on track or at bay. Plus Cats just look cool! 8)

Labs are good they usually don't bark. Lot of people starting to use daschund (wienie dogs)

Highly recommend labs. Have had 3 in the past years and make one heck of a blood dog.

catahoulas will blood, bay and catch deer... I love labs as much as the next guy and have seen some that will trail, but a cat will flat out beat a lab at anything but retrieving. My friends cat named Smitty will not let you down on a wounded deer, have seen it catch deer when we were training it. Shot a young doe in the hips and smitty was on her before we even had to draw his attention.
