Great to meet everyone.

Postby driveby » Mon Nov 29, 2010 10:13 am

I got to put faces with names and shake hands with several of the Ducksouth brethren this weekend. It was great to meet all of you. Everyone was as nice as you could ask to meet.......even Vickers.

driveby gets the award for the most ducks I've ever seen rain from the sky. Those poor birds didn't stand a chance when they crested the levee and met the 9th brigade.

LOL!!! Y'all should have been out there Friday morning when Lawdawg and Gator were set up one levee over from us. I think we had poor ol' Gator dazed and confused a little because he said ducks were falling in front, behind, and all around him. He said he wasn't expecting all that because birds were hitting the water everywhere all at once. We had to stop shooting after the first 10 minutes of shooting light because we had our scaup limits and couldn't ID the bootlips without a little more light.

There were a couple times I pulled up to shoot a bird and before I could get a bead on it, it was folded up from the stick of death 1/2 mile away. You should have given that poor dog yall had a ribeye. He earned his keep that morning.

There were a few walls of steel out there on Friday. The group just behind us must have had a shotgun on each shoulder cause it sure sounded like there were 10 guns for 5 hunters.. :D

I may be wrong but I could see this story going all sorts of different if the hunters involved didn't know each other..............

In case you didn't realize,Albanians have a starvation bead added to every firearm the day it is bought. Over here if one duck gets by you may not get a chance at another for awhile.

I averaged a bird with every 3 shells Saturday and that was including shooting a couple cripples. And once again I was shooting my cheap 2 3/4" steel I bought on clearance sale. If I'd get off my wallet and by some 3" shells I might really be able to hit something.
Gator, I hope we were able to provide some entertainment but I truly hope we didn't get on your nerves or anything. That's the last thing that any of us would want to do. We're not like that. Anyhow, I would still like to shoot over Magellan one day if you're going to have him out there. I meant to ask about it Friday but forgot.
