ATV and WMA question?

Postby CB » Wed Dec 05, 2001 8:20 am

Which corp. land was this on and does this law affect any WMA'S. I was planning on taking next week off and doing some scouting and don't want to ride into a hornets nest.

Thanks,

ATV and WMA question?

I believe the discussion is about lands in the Sardis/Oxford area. I live slap in the middle of Caney Creek WMA.

Just be safe and check the local regulations.

By the way as far as I know all national forest land are open to ATVs. we use the hell out of them on Benievell. It would take a federal law to affect these areas.

CB, my experience is that they all are different. Most of them have roads that are for ATV's but usually don't allow any traffice off those roads unless your retrieving game. Just do a little research either on the net or at the check in gate for the WMA's you are planning to scout. My .02 cents. baldduck

Wrong my friend it does not require federal law. Delta National is a prime example. You must pay to use a ATV there and you can only ride on marked trails. (period)
This law was put into effect by the Director of Delta National to aquire money to improve the roads.

Who does the director of Delta National work for?

Are not these roads in question Forest Service roads (a federal organization)?

Just getting my facts straight I may be wrong.

I said:
"if you need an ATV to duck hunt you are lazy"

I do not needone to get to my hunting spots I never said I don't use them if and when it is legal.

Using 4 wheelers is not a matter of necessity
it is a matter of convience.

Yes I use them, it makes things easier, but if they were to outlaw them on public lands tomorrow you can bet you sweet ass, I ain't gonna miss a hunt over it. And I would not have to "share" near as many duck holes either.

Keep the ATV's out of the woods, I'd rather walk. If you need a ATV to duck hunt your lazy.

Say one thing and do another.
