Dog support needed..

Anything can be removed. 'Not sure what 'function' they serve other than to emit that dog's scent (signature)....how that dog smells to another dog. When dogs sniff butts, they ain't tryin' to determine what brand o' dog food the other guy's eatin'. That's how they distinguish one dog from another, so to speak. Sure, it's obvious they might be able to just look at each other and tell dogs apart, but that wouldn't be as much fun.......'think they kinda like to see how much the other dog flinches when they stick that cold nose there. (Woo-WEE!!!) (Damn, Phideaux.....why don't you warm that thing up, a bit, first.....and dry it off while you're at it.....will ya?)

Well yeah, but just because you can remove it doesn't mean you can do without it My point is can they bilogically function without them.

I had an old blackman tell me why dogs sniff each other...he said all the dogs were going to get together and have a cookout, one dog was supposed to bring all the spices and he never showed up, now all the dogs are looking for him and when they do find him they are going to whip his butt.

Meeka,

Don't really appreciate your comments. I was just trying to give a comment on the subject matter.

Your reply was immature, because someone making that comment has to be.

LOL!!!! Thanks for the compliment.

I'm gonna print this entire thread and post it at the camp cause I now know this is a very common problem in some circles. We are gonna get some of those surgical gloves to have handy, though.

I do have some questions about how to perform this procedure. Do you just kinda message the area or do you have to actually insert? Can Anat. do this in the cab of his truck on the way to the hunt. I have heard of vets doing a similar procedure to relieve pent up frustration in male dogs.

Great thread here. This goes to show how much better this board is than the run of the mill duck boards. You will never find stuff this good on the refuge!

LongBarrel....don't worry......I can't discuss something I'm not familiar with.

I really wish you hadn't put that picture on here......MAN, that's Ug-ly!!

Yeah, Meeka.....the good thing 'bout this site is most of us have gotten to know each other well enough (over the past 2 years)that we can poke and jab at each other without doin' any real damage (most of the time). Kinda like a buncha old men at the deer camp. I just wouldn't want the discussion to get too 'raunchy'. I'd have to leave the room. My buddy has a black lab that may need surgery. He's going to have to get my foot surgically removed from his booty for baptizing my beretta Sunday morning. I knew it was a church morning, but didn't realize that the dog would take it upon himself to become a preacher and baptize my new duck gun. I got on two him for dropping a cripple out of his mouth and the wood duck went down and never came back up. Guess he knew how to get me back.
