Teal Season count down

How many here Teal hunt? I've become addicted to the little Blue Winged jets. Its about the best primer for dove season that I can find. Outside of ole no shoulders being active and the bloodsuckers there is no reason not to try it out. Good eating to boot!
We like to hunt the shallow grass flats and backwater with fairly large spreads of decoys. We probally don't need as many as we put out but that part satisfies the decoy fix (another story of sickness).
We have tried the Teal calls and they work pretty good. You can also reduced the air but increase your pressure on a regular call and land'em right out front.
Anyone want to talk teal let me know!

Nope unless water's below 50 or weather been below 40 for about a week straight Lacey's gonna stay home. So that nocks out teal season and perhaps some of big duck season. But I love it too, man it's fun, just always gotta hope there's some teal in the area, last year was a good year.

AL E. Gator runs the WMA at the mouth of the Pearl River. His eyes shine like fire and he is looking for a few snack before winter. Boeuf is an old lady now and she stays home until the weather changes (just like Jeff said). Have a good one men.

A hunting buddy of mine went down to the Pearl River a few years back chasing the blue patches. He found a new boat ramp and expored an area that was not easy to get to before. You may know where I'm talking about. Anywho, he has pictures of him wading around in the back water looking for ducks. What's crazy is when he developed them you could plainly see what looked like a gator slide right behind him. He was just doing what we do up here and never thought about gators. Just to add a little to the part about al e gator, ole Mrs Al E Gators brand new babys will be hatching from Sept to Oct so watch which hole youre hunting.She dont take kindly to tresspassers if you know what I mean [img]images/smiles/icon_eek.gif[/img]

i love to hunt teal. We hunt them on the Res around Jackson. Had apretty good year last year. I saw a guy using the rotor wing and about a dozen mallard dekes and 6 geese floaters, he had the teal landing in his lap.

Gators, sure, just don't look for them and be sure to kick any log bedoe you try to stand on it and you should be fine. However, i do leave my dog at home during teal season. As far as water temp, on two different occasion last year when the ambienent temp was at 40 degress, we saw gators. We had one surface behind the boat after a friend's dog had completed a retreive. We left with the dog, the birds weren't flying any way. I guess some could say that is as good excuse as any.

Hunt shallow and don't forget to lead just a tad.

them TEAL is great to hunt, but after a trip down south and witnessing a big Gator, heck no, you southern boys can have em... i only want to worry about them sliders... they can only bite, not eat...... you Gulf Coast boys ain't right....{i learned that straight from DAFFYS'} haha.......
It ain't that far away.... i'm gettin a little itchy......

I love to see the teal...however, since I aint too fond of the judges sliders, I usually hope some teal are still around once it gets cold.

I noticed the paper started talking about the pros heading to football camp. That's the first sign that my favorite time of year is on the way. Football, dove season, duck season back to back...I can't wait.

I used to include turkey season in the spring, until I got bit by that wierd bug and hadn't been back since. So, turkeys are off my list. Took weeks of drugs and salve to get that whelp to go away.
