Squirrel and dumplings, only way I really like them. A squirrel puts more flavor in a dumpling than chicken ever could. My grandmother does the cooking and let me tell you it is fine. Will get her recipe if you are interested? She also always wants a couple of squirrels to save just for herself. She will cook them whole (head attached).
Are we gonna get wet?

1)fry them legs.

2)squirell dumplings.

3)clean them whole cover the entire squirell in honey and bbq, place in a aluminum pan with your favorite marinade/with a cup of water. give them a little dry seasoning if you'd like, but don't get them to salty. cook on the grill with them covered in the pan, real low temp for about an hour and a half. the meat will be really tender if you don't let it dry out and it's some kind of good! you can also cut up some onions and carrots and put in the pan. tried this a couple weeks ago, just to try something different. everybody ate up and said good things.

for exmaple you could kill a 4 greenheads (two banded), a mallard/black cross, and a mallard/gaddy cross and smash a hot blonde on the way back to the ramp and call it a hell of a day
and THAT is a duck hunt.

Pressure cooked with brandy and onions is my favorite.

Then bread and pan fry sq legs in some oil and butter mixture, remove and put a new onion and peppers in with the pan drippings and simmer until tender. add flour for the rouix, stirring continuously.

Turn low to simmer, and add back to the pot the sq pieces and put a lid on it; let simmer for about 15-20 minutes. Serve over rice or mashed potatoes.

I had to re-learn this once i got a sq dog; and it's dam good.
