new duck lease!!

Postby natchezboy » Tue Oct 26, 2010 9:55 pm

So this past weekend I took my pops to our new duck lease on turkey creek lake near gilbert, LA. It was his first time on the property. The property is a 100 acre cypress brake. We drove up to the spot and climbed out of the truck. I looked to right side of the levee and see that another cypress has fallen on a big cypress log in the brake. No biggie. I continue walking when my pops asked "what is that on that log?" I say another log not thinking twice. He says, "look again." I look and see a 10-11 foot gator start working his way into the water. WTH! blind building weekend just got canceled b/c i cant get anyone to go. my question is where do those things go in the winter? you never see them in the winter. how active are they.

They'll hibernate until you get some 70 degree days in Jan..........then you'll see them. BUT experts say that they aren't looking to eat something unless the water is 72 degrees or whatever.
