Say a little pray for us

Postby M.R.Ducks » Tue Oct 19, 2010 8:28 am

Well tomorrow is the day that my pup (Tucker) has to go in for his second and hopefully final spinal tap. He was diagnosed with meningitis back in the middle of July, and has progressed very well through his treatment but needs the additional spinal tap so his medication can be further reduced and hopefully eliminated. He goes in tomorrow around 10 and will have to stay over night. Just a scary thought that he will have a huge needle stuck in his spine. But he is a strong pup so I am hopeful that everything comes back clean and clear so we can move on!

Thanks!

I had a spinal tap when I was 4 or 5 y/o......I'm 32 now and to this day I can still remember how bad it hurt.

Had viral meningitis back in grade school. A tap is something seared into your head as a human. I hope all is well.

Well I feel like the little boy that cried wolf. But the good news is the Doctors decided against the spinal tap today. They said he was so playful and full of energy that there was no need in doing the tap cause the feel the results would have came back negative. They gave us a new treatment plan that will involve a bit longer medication schedule and advised a spinal tap only if he exhibits any symptoms of a relapse.

Needless to say he will get a few extra fun bumper and some water work this evening for saving us money and stress.

Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers!
