Who has turned on the water?
Put boards in 14 pipes and started pumping this weekend. The ground is like a sponge.

Re: Who has turned on the water?
It may bite me in the end but I'm rolling the dice and hoping for some rain before I start pumping. I have some boards in to try to catch what I can between now and the first weekend in November. If I need more, I'll pump then. Looking at the long range forecast, next week looks like it has some potential. We'll see.

Its dang near 80 degrees, dry as the desert, diesel high as giraffe "BEARDED CLAM"...common sense tell me I'd have to wait...but my water depends solely on Ma Nature, so I'm at her mercy. But if'n I had the option, I still wouldn't. With the majority of our good hunting starting after Christmas also playing a great deal into the decision.

Re: Who has turned on the water?
Started pumping about a week ago. The levee blew out Saturday and had to turn the pump off. Making levee repairs Tuesday morning and I'll have water pumping again by the afternoon....I hope.

Re: Who has turned on the water?
Been pumping for about 2 weeks now. Some of our holes were half pumped for teal season. Got 2 more holes that we'll start pumping this week. As dry as it is, our big one is gonna take 3 weeks to fill up.

Pumped 5 days to get one 12 acre pond 6" deep in early September, and it rained 1.5" while I was pumping. The tricty bill was $370 and about half of that water is gone now.

I know when it has been this dry before I had a time with fresh pulled levees without a good rain on them, may not be your case but I know I am not pumping on any until a rain. I watched one guy pump his crp for almost three weeks, he finally turned it off last Friday. In 80 degrees it wont last long.

We need it to rain between now and the first weekend in Nov just to saturate the ground. Keeping praying for the rain!
Re: Who has turned on the water?
too early to pump. i doubt you can hold ducks for five weeks before season starts. and like wingman experienced you'll haveto pump again. REALLY EXPENSIVE. start pumping in NOV. and then catch rain bout November 24th
