I'll tell yall what an old man told me one time about marriage and taking women hunting:
"never marry a woman that loves to hunt because your gonna always have to take her with ya, and never marry a woman that hates to hunt, cause she is gonna nag ya all the time, best advice just never get married!" Best advice I ever had!

Yeah, I've got plenty of stories 'bout my 'huntin' partner', but folks might be gettin' pretty tired of'em. I'll just say that MY wife joined a duck lease in Louisiana, this year. She's home right now (during the La 'split') and is doin' laundry and stockin'-up on supplies to last her 'til Jan 20th. She'll go back to 'camp', this Friday. I only see her on the weekends (I'm only a guest)....and that's only if I drive 4 hours to her camp......yada, yada, yada.

Oh yeah.....she said somethin' 'bout shootin' a deer to take back over there with her. She's probably sighting-in her muzzle-loader at this moment.

I consider myself, one of the LUCKY ones! (Boy, I'll say!) The only bad thing.....one of us has to work!

One other thing.....she hunted (just ducks) 49 days of the 51-day MS season, last year.

I've taken my wife deer hunting a few times. She killed a doe the second time I took her, and hasn't been back yet. BUT she told me last night that WE need to go kill a deer, cause we are out of venison and she doesn't like to buy ground beef. So I guess I'll have to go deer hunting with her sometime soon.
We're going to try duck hunting this year. We went and got her waders a couple of weeks ago. I think that she is going to go with me to the Delta this weekend. I'm excited just to see her wade off into some flooded timber!! I hope watching ducks drop into the spread does for her what it does for me. If it does she certainly won't be giving me any **** about going every weekend!!Unless I don't ask her to go

My wife enjoys going with me duck hunting. She kinda got on them boys with me on Sunday. A greenhead circled once, and locked em up and dropped in right in front of their faces. They fiddlefarted around and let the duck get out of the hole before they started shooting at it. I didn't have a shot because of the direction the bird came in and shot at it as it was leaving (only to knock all his tail feathers out). My wife ragged them the rest of the day telling them she was gonna bring a gun next time and show em how it's done....I got a big laugh out of it. She absolutely LOVES deer meat, but had a bad experience with duck breast and I haven't convinced her to try it again yet.

Hell Yes Take'em if they like it! I have had a great hunting partner in my wife for 17 years. I can not get her to duck hunt unless she is in the boat with the heater. She loves deer hunting and gre up in south texas doing it with her Dad. She evens trains her own dog and helps me with mine. It has become a year long thing to prepare fo rthe hunting season in my house. We spend every weekend at the camp mobile home relaxing and adding to it. I would recomend it to anyone. It's a hell of a lot better to curl up in bed at the camp with your honey!
