Re: OT: Big Island Hawaii
Not many beaches on the big island. A couple of black sand ones on the south end as I remember. Lots of volcanic sights, lava rock and rough ground. Lava tubes were interesting also. Hilo is OK and a little laid back when I was there. The Parker Ranch is a big place and an interesting drive. Saw turkeys, Nenes and some goats.
Helping ducks have a bad day since 1961.

Drive "the saddle road" btwn the volcano's.
Visit volcano national park.
Visit Parker Ranch.
Do tubing on rivers on east side of island.
You're gonna have a great time.

for exmaple you could kill a 4 greenheads (two banded), a mallard/black cross, and a mallard/gaddy cross and smash a hot blonde on the way back to the ramp and call it a hell of a day

You're a week late for the race! Get some Joe at Kona Coffee and bring me a shirt.

Naw trust me, the race date is what made our decision to head out there (race is on the Oct. 9).
As far as the hunting I can't shoot yet due to my shoulder, but I should be good to go in about a month.

Thanks fellows for yalls advice, I'll give you some updates and pics when we return.

My favorite place was Kona......small, laid back community......I would spend a couple of days there.

Last time I was in Kona I bought a HulaBean t-shirt that has their logo on the back. My wife gets pissed everytime I wear it.
