Drinking and Shooting

Postby ACEINTHEHOLE » Thu Sep 30, 2010 10:47 am

Is it something that people just joke about alot, or do alot of people actually do it. I have noticed on several post lately that the advice given was a case of beer and a gun and wait. I for one just dont care to be around stuff like that because I wanna live.

Growing up where I have it was just always a normall thing "lets go ride around, drink beer, and shoot some stuff". Don't do much riding and drinking now but when we have skeet shoots and stuff at our camp, yeah we usually are drinkin some cold ones. Dove hunting and cold beer have always gone hand in hand around here as well, its just a common thing. I also know plenty of people, and I've been known to do it myself, who enjoy having a drink on the deerstand. Right or wrong yes it does happen.

case of beer
gun
wait

A combo of those three can help with many problems

I know some camps frown on it, but growing up my dad and uncle and all thier friends always did it. In fact every Thursday night from the time I can remember my Dad and I would go out to shoot skeet at the gun club and everyone was drinking.

I know where im from we drink doing everything. Its just how i always remember it. I know alot of the guys i hunt with always drink while shooting skeet, dove hunting, and building blinds and such. Now its almost Taboo to drink a few beer in the blind, why that is i dont know. And when i say drink i dont mean get sloppy drunk, but there is always that one guy.So I can say yes it does happen

I'd argue drinkin and shooting is safer than drinking and golfing, which is encouraged. Atleast on the shooting side I know my shot is going where the gun is pointed.

I think the post was about beavers, and I stated to get case of beer and gun and enjoy. I do not drink while duck or deer hunting. Now coon hunting...... Thats a whole different ball game.
