Griff Update

Postby gunner » Tue Sep 28, 2010 10:02 am

Hey guys,

After my good buddy novacaine PM'd me asking about Griff I got to thinking that it had been a while since I let you all know how Griff is doing.

Griff is doing great! He is feeling well and has had a lot of energy. His cell counts are low right now due to some recent chemo treatments, but overall nothing much to complain about. More so, we count ourselves blessed at how well Griff has done. He has been playing soccer, and he's about two weeks out from being on the "Maintenance Phase" of chemo treatments. That means, instead of weekly chemo treatments, we will be coming to clinic once a month for treatments. Hopefully life will become a little more normal. Well, we've gotten so used to the way things are now that life may become abnormal again (depends on how you look at it I guess). One way or the other, things should be a little more bearable.

Is Newton near Hickory? Reason I ask is my Buds and I (flying club) are flying to a flyin at Hickory for burgers Saturday with some friends. We love to introduce kids to aviation via (Young Eagle Flights), google it up. They are for kids 8 to 17 years old and at no cost to the kids. If the kids don't meet the age requirements we can usually work around it with a little advance notice. Have planes will travel (for kids). Let me know if Griff and his buddies want to go flying. If any of you other guys would like a similar opportunity for Young Eagle Flights in your town
just let me know. It's all about the kids. Thanks, Trawler

Will fly for food.

We actually live in Decatur, MS now. Decatur is still 10 minutes from Hickory. I bet you might know a guy by the name of Billy Johnson. He is our best friend's father. Some of the Rose family may be in that club as well. Any of those names ring a bell? It sounds like fun. Griff is only five, though. I'll see if he is intersted in at least going to see the planes. What time will ya'll be there?
