Yea, I know. This man did nothing to those Iraq citizens yet they go and take him hostage. And what about all the individuals that will be killed in an automobile accident on their way to work this morning. I mean all they are trying to do is get to work! Maybe we should take away automobiles. We do not want innocent lives being killed by these deadly machines.
I definitely do not want to seem like the lives that are lost are not important as I was on active duty during the first war and am currently in the guard. But we lost more in one month during WWII than we have in this war. I know that the Jap's brought us into that war, but lets look at WWI...no one attacked us. It was us that entered that war to help out. As stated by Woodrow Wilson, World War I had been fought to make the world safe for democracy.
If people could only go over there and see how these people live and are treated day-to-day by the powers that were in charge, you would want to free them. That aside, the world is a safer place without Saddam, no questions about it.
On another note, the Taliban should have been taken out years ago when they took ownership in attacking the USS Cole. According United States laws, attacking a military installation or vessel is an act of war. Clinton new this and only dropped a few bombs. Yea, that did the trick...he really showed those Taliban folks he meant business. No, it should have been taken care of right then. Clinton even admits that the CIA had Bin Laden in their sites and asked for the OK to take him out. "NO!" is what Clinton said. Not sure why, but he made the call. Was it the right call?
Ever hear the song "Coward of the County"? The boy was picked on all the time and one day he went and locked the door and took care of business? That is what we need to do right now. If you are a terrorist country bad mouthing the United States and making threats of terrorist acts against the United States, I say lets shut the door and take care of business. CLEAN HOUSE! If Iran keeps running their mouth and we find out they are helping out, lets LOCK THE DOOR! It is safer in the long run so that the attacks are not on United States soil.
Guess I rambled on too much, but getting back to the post, it is sad that this guy is going through this and I will continue to pray for him and his family, but no one forced him to go over there. He volunteered.
Please do not think I like the fact that our men and women are coming home in body bags, but no war has ever been fought without bloodshed.
The world is a much safer place without Sadaam!

I went to a job fair for Kellog, Brown and Root (Halliburto), the man new of the risk he was taking and is compensated well for his sacrifice working in a hostile environment. I pray for him and his family, however I think he made the decision to go. Oilfield workers have been kidnapped for years in Africa and South America, some live and some die, but one's things for sure it was their choices to go and make the large wages and work in the hostile environments. Kinda like the market, the greater the risk the higher the reward. I have turned down tiwce the money I make now to go and work overseas in the oilfield, but I didnt think it would be fare to my family to have the constant worry of loosing my big booty. Well thats just my opinion, and like I said I hope and pray he makes it. Just remember it was his decision to go.

Well i think we should have made a parking lot out of the whole country. I was on duty(firehouse) at the time of the attack. Not long after that they showed pictures of that country and men, women, children were hloding up U.S. flags then burning them and then stepping on them. They were also chanting death to the Americans. The bottom line is that the American people do not want to see soldiers coming home in body bags. But some of you don't have a problem with seeing the hundreds of Firemen and policemen that were murdered in our on country. It is not over it has just begun

I feel pretty sure that you would not even invaded Afganistan.
I would have thought with all your criticism of the why things were being handled now, you would have had a comprehensive plan to deal with terrorist. Since it is all our fault that they hate us.
I still would like to hear exactly how the US should have handled this situation so we can be loved by the entire world.
I don't think you want to know how I think the terrorist abroad and domestic socialist should be handled.

You've had 2 1/2 years since 9/11/01 to think about things. What do you mean you don't know what you would do or would have done? You aren't that dense are you? You've taken time to analyze and criticize but you are telling us you have no clue how you would have reacted? We don't need the pussin' out response "it sure would not be how Bush did it". That's a response I would expect from someone of ignorance. We know you aren't that.

I heard the MS boy being interviewed on the national radio this morning. I had a lot of respect for him when he said now he won't ever complain about the little things because we have it so good here compared to there. Real appreciative of the USA. That boy was in a real tight spot for a few seconds. After they blew up his truck they beat him down and he came up swinging. Lucky as a dog with two of them to get away. He was just trying to get $80K tax free in 335 days by hauling gas to send his 16 year old to college. Good man if you ask me.
I listened to Bush tonight and as one that's not for War generally speaking and not a Republican, he convinced me why we are there and doing this thing.
It's for national security against terroism and to cause a phenomenon of freedom in the middle east that will serve our national interests well. Could Iraq be free and a US ally and what would that do for that part of the world and the recruitment of terrorists and gas prices for our economy?
I would have to say he and we have a long row to hoe, but if he is successful could be the greatest thing done in a long while for the world.
I'm an optimistic dreamer that loves to be proactive and creative about everything and that sucker Bush has got me on his side. Always thought he was a little dumb and not much on "what could be". I loved Clinton's ideas, plans, and economics. I hated Reagans and Daddy Bush's ideas, plans, and economics. Little Bush gave me a bunch of money for my kids and after tonight bought my vote. I like Bush, he's got a dream and a reason that's bigger than most have believed in or carefully considered and I'm a yellow dog democrat that hates War.
Course that boy from MS that nearly lost his life said he does not understand at all why they act like they do when we are trying to help them. He probably knows first hand how thick the grass is in that cotton row. I just hope it works and we can afford it. Course I hope the ducks will behave different next year as well.

i think your post was a brave statement on your part. irregardless of where you stand politically it is always important to stand up for what is right.
these are difficult times for all americans and this war is being used as a pawn for political purposes. i hope bushs message tonight will resonate with more americans like yourself. no matter who wins the white house it is very important that we stay the course on this unpleasant business in iraq.

I have always backed the reason we are in IRAQ. And I will always back that. Saddam was a threat and he has used w.o.m.d in the past and would of used them again if he were still there.
I applaud all of the service men and women we have fighting for our freedom. God Bless you all!!!! You are all in my prayers!
