Affordable Delta duck hunts
Affordable Delta duck hunts
Does anyone have any ideas on getting quality hunts in the MS delta without paying an arm and a leg. I've heard good things about MS Delta Ducks Season Pooled Package. Anybody know anything about that?

Who is David? MS Delta Ducks has a season pooled package that's 3000 for 4 people and You can hunt everyday of the season if you want. They have blinds at every hole and their field staff scouts everything for you. Sounds like a great deal To Me! Does anybody know these guys?

Yes i know them and seriously considered joining. Per person its a good deal but it depend on total number of sites, number of groups, and the rotation employed.dukduk wrote:Who is David? You're concerns are the same as mine. I wondered about those same things and they explained that the more groups the more holes. SO 7 groups with 11 holes would be no different than 30 groups with 40 holes. Seems like a win win situation to me.

Cris Wilson is the Broker for them. He's a great guy and won't steer you wrong. If it involves Bobby and Cris, you're not going to be hit where it hurts. It's worth a shot if I were a wagering man.dukduk wrote:Who is David? MS Delta Ducks has a season pooled package that's 3000 for 4 people and You can hunt everyday of the season if you want. I told Chris and Bobby that i want to see the maps of the areas before i pulled the trigger. They have access to some real ducky areas that i am familiar with. I would just like to see the overall layouts and locations. They are concentrating in about 3 areas (last i spoke with them about 1.5 months ago). THey understand that duck hunting is just like realestate-location,location,location. Good luckdukduk wrote:I agree with you veteran. I feel comfortable talking to them and their field staff.

There is a difference if you're talking about the same amount of land. 11 holes on 300 acres is completely different than 40 holes on 300 acres.dukduk wrote:You're concerns are the same as mine. Re: Affordable Delta duck hunts
The way they explained it to me was that every group they added they added a new piece of land with new holes. So say they have 300 acres with 7 groups they may have 3000 acres for 40 groups. They stressed to me that they do not want crowded hunters or too much pressure on any particular hole.
Re: Affordable Delta duck hunts
That's the way to go. If they are adding land then I agree completely, there's no difference between 7 or 30 groups.
Re: Affordable Delta duck hunts
That's my opinion too. They have some good areas to duck hunt. They told me they have areas in the Fighting Bayou and Mallard Manor area as well as the Mossy Island area. I'll hunt in those areas anyday.
Re: Affordable Delta duck hunts
dukduk I hunted with MS DELTA DUCKS last year and had a great experience. The field staff was all about accomidating for me. They took me to my hole each day and contacted me after each hunt to see if I needed anything and checked to see how my hunt went. They put me on birds each morning. I joined their pooled lease package this year and I expect it to be great.
Re: Affordable Delta duck hunts
i looked into this also and also looked at leasing some land without doing the group deal. only thing that bothered me on the season package was if you call them one day before the hunt and they tell you where to go, your going to need to have looked at the land previously or have a pretty detailed map to know where you are going. it could turn into a big cluster trying to find somewhere in the dark when you have never stepped foot on the land. also wanted to add that i think the number was alot higher than 7 diff groups already in on the package deal when i looked into it in june. might want to personally go look at all the diff package deal holes before diving off into it. alot was old catfish ponds and it seemed you would be pretty close to another group if they were to hunt one of the other holes. but like cris told us, how many weekends will all the groups be there together except the first couple and last couple weekends. cris seemed to shoot you strait but i would look at all the holes personally and have some for sure way of knowing you will be able to get in touch with them for you to know where you are going to hunt the next morning. i believe they are pretty big duck hunters theirselves so you might not be able to get in touch with them if it becomes a spur of the moment hunt. just do your homework and cover everything before you pull the trigger.
just because land is next to fighting bayou doesn't mean you are going to have ducks. i have a buddy that has land that is in rock throwing distance from fighting bayou and they do not do no where as near as good as you would think. and they plant crops for ducks, not farming on their land, just as fighting bayou does. hope this helps and i am definitely not knocking on cris and them. it seems like a very good deal with good land, but cover all your basics and do your homework
