I'll shoot a dove off of a line, limb, or the ground if he will sit still long enough!

Different strokes for different folks I reckon...We wont shoot a duck on water or a pheasant/ chukar/quail on the ground either. Was how I was brought up....not illegal if ya do. I chated with a fella in I think Nova Scotia...they wont shoot dux flying, say its more sporting to lure said dux into the decoys before blastin...I believe it may be due to the price of ammo...they got 5 shells, they come home with 5 dux. He says" why in the world would you shoot at them flying...dont you miss alot of them".....funny

I dont know how to post the pics but will see what I can do...

6 month workout regime whatever Paul Lacoste tells me it is...I weighed 180 after high school and 180 after college and 190 at age 40. At age 50 = 210. That is the only thing these jerks have siad that is true: I am fat!

Since my guys cant get activated to make posts, they will send me emails that I will cut and paste into forum myself. First one is given below:

Logan-

I just wanted to drop you a quick line to say thanks for all you do at BRHC. Since I joined last year, you have gone out of your way to make me feel welcome and to help put me on a big, mature buck. I can't believe I passed on the 130-140" buck in 18-4; but I swear he wasn't 4.5 yrs old. I can't wait to see what he looks like this year!! Anyway, thanks again for all you do and I look forward to another great year at BRHC!

Best regards,
Carey Hemphill

FYI Carey also passed on a nice 3.5 year old in Illinois that his buddy killed about 30 minutes later, then he winged one down near Hattiesburg where he lives. But he finished strong with nice, mature buck up in Sasketchwan. (That was in the final months before his baby was born!)

SNOT/KEITH-KYLE/NICK-REMINGTON: Since yall have made it your business to know so much about our club, please confirm for everybody that Carey is in fact a returning member of the club. Thanks bithces.

So many un answered questions.... Wonder why? Only assumption an person is to have is there just simply a reason and or lie to cover the previous accusations in which got you caught up in the non winning battle you have so ridiculously stirred the pot on. As far as my father ever taking the fun out of it, never came close as far as being ethical is another story. Shooting one off a power line us like shooting a turkey off the roost. Congrats to you son, glad he found enjoyment over the embarassmeny of his dad. (oh my did I say that) I never once seen a single post saying anything about baiting deer or any other game. So why bring so much non discussed topics into a post? Maybe the simple fact of just trying to change the subject to get that fire off your booty? I believe that is called a precise answer to a very well known fact. Carry on however you see fit there!

In other words Mr. Hemphill is thanking you for that buck he killed in section 17646852357.48668745! Learn to read through things. Plus if I could kill and sneak out I would too, and kiss a little ass here and there so you wouldn't get suspicious. But since you club is the laughing stock I think they do it simply to say that did because you think you have such a handle in it ha

Ok I dont know if I overlooked it or just never saw it.

When you fine someone, where does the money go? Into your pocket or into something for the club? Im not saying when someone gets fined everyone elses dues go down or anything like that. I just figured it wouldnt go to your checkbook on someone elses mistake.

Then when you kick someone out. You still fine them to get the money and then kick them out or just flat kick them out and dont worry about the fine?

Seems like with everything going around about money it had to go somewhere. Then on 1 post you said something about a guy building you a shooting house or working for $10.00 a hour to work off his fine. Did he do work on the club or property or at your house? Was the shooting house for all members or only you to hunt?

Just wondering. I might have overlooked it or it might not have ever been asked or said.
May the wind always be at your back and the sun upon your face, and may the wings of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars.
Cheers, Georgie.

Hammer wrote:Let me- AGAIN- see if I got this straight: You guys are worried about giving the game a sporting chance, right? But I bet you use spinners for hunting ducks, spinners for hunting doves and bait deer with corn? I do none of the above. I dont own a spinner and I dont own a feeder. But my 9 year old son shooting a dove off a light line with a .410 is not sporting enough for you? Who are you to tell me what is/isnt sporting? Illegal is one thing but sporting? BTW, the host of the hunt intentionally sat us there so my son could be assured of not going home disappointed. So not only do I think you are whacked, so does he and everybody else on the hunt who congratulated my son after taking his first bird. There were high fives and cheers all over the field.

I guess you guys yell at the deer to make them run before you shoot them too? Probably dont ever shoot a gobbler without waving at him first? Only hunt deer and turkey with a bow- what about ducks and dove- Come on guys give them birds a sporting chance- use your bow to hunt them.

As hunters, how could you not realize that we are losing hunters by the day? As older hunters die, there are not enough young hunters to replace them. Heck yeah I will let him shoot a dove off a wire. You should hve seen the joy on his face at killing his first dove. Have any of you guys ever set out to kill a limit of doves with a single shot .410? Shooting any dove with a .410 is a sporting proposition. He actually missed a couple off the wire because he was flinching at the trigger pull so I would say it was sporting enough, thank you very much.

Your dads sent yall the wrong message. They are lucky they did not ruin you for hunting in the process. It's got to be fun and killing is part of the fun. If yall had hunting age kids, you would know that. I will not undermine the members at BRHC for my son's benefit. We have other land to hunt on but at BRHC its 3.5 years old or older bucks or he isnt shooting a buck- PERIOD. HE already undertands that after hunting with me there since he was 3 years old and telling me to shoot a young 6 point because he wanted to pet him! Besides, given that I see a bunch of 3.5 bucks every year, there is a very good chance he will get a shot at one. And I promise you I wont yell at it first to give the deer a fair chance!
No sir as a matter of fact, I have never used a decoy of any kind for dove hunting. It's called having a good field that the birds come back to year after year, which is what we had until the city of Horn Lake annexed us and built a park surrounding our property. We hosted one of the biggest, and arguably the best dove hunt in Desoto County for probably close to 40 years. It started well before I was born and our last hunt there was in 2005. I shot my first limit when I was 9 with a single shot 20 gauge. Kinda hard to ruin a kid with hunting like that, even not shooting the birds off the lines or out of the trees.

And comparing shooting a dove off the line to shooting a deer standing still is like comparing apples to bananas. Part of killing a deer is being in the right place at the right time, then being still enough with the right wind to not be sensed by the deer for long enough for him to get in your comfortable shooting range. Dove hunting is all about wingshooting, shooting birds FLYING, not sitting still on a power line or tree limb. Hell, I don't even like to shoot ducks on the water unless it's wounded and can't fly. It just takes the sport out of it, though not near as much as shooting doves off the line. At least with ducks on the water, you still had to lure it in with decoys and calling, along with being still and quiet enough to go unnoticed by the bird. Much, much different than walking up to a power line and shooting a bird.

I grew up hunting with my dad, and I know there is much more to hunting than just the kill. I usually only deer hunt 3-4 days a year and that is mainly just to go to our family land and spend time at the cabin with my brother, dad, granddad, uncles, and cousins. We of course don't have a trophy management club run by a deer management expert like yourself, and honestly don't kill many huge deer, but hunting and sportsmanship is about so much more than that. It's about the fellowship and spending time with your family and close hunting buddies that makes it all so worthwhile. No matter if a deer is killed, or we kill a limit of birds or none, we still have the time of our lives just being together. Maybe you should take that into consideration and teach your son that hunting is not always about the kill. The fun comes from the people that you get to share it with.

If you are in a club that manages their deer herd, most clubs do in fact count guests' deer towards the members total. At least all the ones I know about do. Clubs that aren't on a mangagement program usually charge a little something for guests but don't count any deer taken by them towards the members total.

As I clearly said on the radio show, it was my son not myself that shot off the lightline.

As for fight at deer camp, I believe my friend. He is man of his word and Christian- not a snot nost punk wannabe.

You guys have no ability to tell the truth. I have never seen anything like it. My only regret on this thread (besides SNOT not agreeing to fight me) is that my buddies have been locked out of posting on this site so the whole world would be able to see what liars yall are without taking just my word and RCJOWENS word about me and my club and MACDADDY'S word about yall. But that is how it looks like it will end up sicne they ahve all registered but not been activated. Very disappointing that the moderators- whom said they would be fair and balanced- have not been able to get those guys in.
You have lied and lied and lied...the mods are sick of your whining and crying, that's why they have let this play out, so quit your whining and crying. YOU DO NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO TELL THE TRUTH. It is appaerently not in your DNA. As I said before, I would get no pleasure out of beating a fat, old man's booty with my bare hands, not with gloves like a sissy would suggest.....and you have basically agreed with me that I would after you said you would have to train for 6 months to go toe to toe. Here's the deal: your a con that obviously cant make an honest buck, therefore, you swindle people and threaten lawsuits. Some people do this as they're only means of income....they simply take anyone and everyone to court and try to settle....I know how you work. You are dirty and your name is $#!+. And please, if you are an outdoor writer, at least learn to spell or use spell-check.
