Get on board, guys. Cost you nothing and it is between 4 finalist so it is not an us against them type of thing. The ducks can benefit from this FREE money!

Have no use for DU--they don't believe in trapping/killing predators which destroy the eggs. Delta Waterfowl is older and is run by good people not "Liberals"--DW all the way!

Wrong again... It does work on a small scale but it is not physically or fiscally possible to control predators on as much ground as DU conserves... Comparing DU and DW is like comparing Watermelons to Grapes...

I support both...

Mr. Redhead-you missed the point completely. What I'm trying to point has nothing to do with land mass-it has to do with the way they think at DU. They don't even ATTEMPT to control predators-why?--because that's killing innocent little animals!! DU is a very politically run organization with there OWN interests being the main show-waterfowl conservation by them has become more of image-thing to make them look like the good guy while they are lining there pockets and vying for governor of Missouri!

duckaholic,

DU qualifies as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit charitable or environmental organization. So does Delta waterfowl, and NWTF, and all the other various wildlife groups where you contributions are tax deductible.

All,

For this contest DU is "competing" against the Audobon (sp?) Society, the United Way of the county where the contest originated and another group I have never heard of. Anyway whether people prefer Delta to DU or vice versa is moot for this poll.

Actually it is because the cost/benifit does not result in positive results. Killing predators does not count as a conservation effort, therefore it is not matched by local and federal governments. So if you raise $100 for predator control, you will have, $100. If you raise $100 for wetland and habitat, you may have up to $300 after it is matched with local and federal money. That and the fact that over 50% of all ducks predators are avian. I don't think there is enough money in the world to make a dent in the crow population, and they only account for maybe half of the entire avian predator population. Protected species make up the rest. (hawks, falcons, etc...)
Believe me, you couldn't be more wrong on every count. Lining their (I assume you meant their and not 'there') pockets? That is just too dumb to even dignify a response. You statements overall ranks top 3 dumbest statements against DU I've ever seen.

I also support both they both have the same agenda, I remember all the uproar about DU back in the 90's. I still throw in a dollar when I can because of there main goal. I could care less what political party they are for, hell for all I know DW could be liberals to I have never been invited to dinner with any of them.
Damn, i thought I had that one

They are Canadian if it makes any difference. The Delta Waterfowl guys couldn't vote down here if they wanted to.
