Deer Feeding
What are the dates for feeding corn and for feeding protein to deer in MS?
If your gonna trespass, you had better be good! Or have a good boat!
Re: Deer Feeding
You can feed corn till September 30 then it's protein till December first I think. Then march you have to start back with protein only.

I believe it's in that little MS hunting seasons and regulations manual that you can pick up for free at any walmart on the sporting goods counter.

That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Who really cares? Feed what you want when you want. I wouldnt waste my time looking up such a stupid regulation. I seriously thought you were joking at first.

Re: Deer Feeding
I don't understand the whole baiting deal. I put a few feeders from time to time, mostly at the end of the season in front of trail cams to see what made it through the season, and don't really hunt over bait. But don't understand the reason MS wastes all the time it does worrying about when and how you can feed deer. Its all BS. All the reasons the game and fish gives for not doing it does not add up. Other states in the south have gotten past this 10 or so years ago, but like most everything else we are behind.

Re: Deer Feeding
the only way they can get baiting passed is to do it in steps. I don't care either way, but either allow it all or make it all illegal, this in between junk just makes it hard for hunters to even try and stay legal...

Ok - here's how I read the regs - may be wrong
July 1 - September 30: corn and/or pellets ok
October 1- November 30: pellets only
December 1-February 28 or 29: corn and/or pellets ok
March 1 - June 30: pellets only
not impossible to keep track of but I too would prefer an "all or nothing" approach
