Ole Miss possible violation, courtesy of Gov. Musgrove

Postby Greenhead22 » Thu Nov 29, 2001 2:59 pm

Thanks to Gov. Musgrove, Ole Miss could be in some trouble. The Govenor sent a driver to pick up the #1 recruit in the state,Jerious Norwood, MSU commitment, and brought him to the UM/UGA game. He was wined and dined in the skybox with all the high ranking politicians and then taken on to the field on two occasions by Ronnie's son, Jordan, which is a direct violation of NCAA rules. The Governor claims that the two have had a longtime friendship, but this is Jordan's first semester at Brandon High due to Ronnie getting caught with his pants down and divorce. And we've always wondered why South Panola players always signed with Ole Miss, or if they didn't were ridiculed by the community. Ronnie gets my vote for bonehead move of the year, as an UM alumni and secret booster. No now MC, Ole Miss has always claimed to be a straight-line recruiting school, just goes to show you they aren't. I know it's duck season, but just couldn't pass up the chance to post this. You know, Ole Miss has got it made, they have Musgrove working on the batesville kids and now top recruits, and Richard Schwartz using his "one call, that's all" motto on the Madison Central kids.

GH22, Explain to me how that would be a violation. If that's the case then could any high school kid go to a game? I don't think it matters who he went with, heck he could a went to a state game with you. I'm not a state or ole miss fan just hate to see some body get on to some poor recruit or college for something that's really not the business of anybody.
By the way didn't he give a verbal to MSU, yall worried that the ship is going to sink for good? baldduck

O.K., you asked for it:

There were these 3 midgets. They each decided they wanted to do something spectacular and get in the Guiness Book of World Records.
So they call the record book guy up and have him come out. Midget #1 says he wants to set the new record for most cans of beer consumed in one hour. So he and the record guy go into a room and an hour later the midget comes out and says he has set a new record.

Midget #2 says he will set the new record for being the shortest person alive in the world. He goes into the room, comes back out a bit
later and announces he is, indeed, the shortest living person in the world, and has made the record book.

Midget #3, not to be outdone, states that he will set the record for having the shortest tallywhacker in all the world. He goes in the room and comes out a few minutes later looking all mad. Midget #1 and #2 realize that #3 must have missed out on the record book. So, they ask him what went wrong and he says, "All I want to know is who the heck is this guy Greenhead 22!" GC, I've seen that joke in five different version in the past week, it has gotten old. The violation occurred when Norwood was taken onto the field during the game, no recruit can be taken on the field but they can sit in the stands. Norwood is for sure coming to MSU now, since this incident has forced Ole Miss to not be able to recruit him anymore until signing day, thanks Gov. Musgrove!!!

GH22 are ya worried about something?? You like blowing things outta proportion to get some smack on Ole Miss!! Nice Try. Oh well, You scared Ole Miss Might have another stellar recruiting class?? You shouldn't be worried considering Yall have Committments from Norwood and Williams, but then again that doesn't really mean anything!!

Nope, not worried at all, just goes to show you what lengths Ole Miss will go to when recruiting. I'll admit it's a minor violation, but it's a violation nevertheless, and they won't be able to recruit him anymore. I'm not blowing this out of proportion, but it would have been if Cutcliffe hadn't fessed up and reported it.

Now why in the hell would ole miss ruin their chances of being able to recruit a player like that by getting musgrove to bring him to a game, then send him down to the field twice, and then turning themselves in? I think it was a major f-up on musgroves part and ole miss is an innocent victim. That's like going into a store, stealing something, getting away with it, only to turn around and go back into the same store and turning yourself in. WHY???????? I think GH22 is still jealous of ole miss and will do anything to make them look bad.
