Re: 3,000 ducks already
As i have said the last couple of days, they were having a little trouble getting the ducks to move down the break to other feeding locations after the dog attacks several days ago. they solved the problem by cutting the food down to 350 lbs yesterday. this morning they were hungry and moved the entire way with no problem. corn is being cut in my neighbors field adjacent to the break as i type this. he hopes the ducks will begin to wander into the field to eat some of the left over grain for two reasons. one is the cost of savings in food. two is that they can fly well enough to avoid predators now and he wants them to fend for themselves and fly back and forth from the fields to the break. he says this would be great training. there is a rice field of his that is also adjacent to the break. the ducks have been eating only the rice off the levee running along the dirt road separating the break from the field and not going into the field itself. he said the rice will be drained Monday and roughly two weeks following that the rice will be cut. he hopes the ducks feed the same there. there is also a break to the north across the rice field that he will begin moving the ducks to that is also leased. that break is to the north. at that point the ducks will be moving north south east and west. the ducks should be flying well by week 12 and at that point other food can be mixed in with the 18% to 24% bought feed to start reducing feed cost. He said that you must be certain that the food you are mixing is not spoiled. he has grain bins in full swing today. the hired help gathers the by products from the dryer, loading/unloading, spillage, etc. the food is stored in dry storage waiting until week 12. the ducks are beautiful, high quality and healthy. have a good one

This sounds like a cattleman moving a herd of cattle from one pasture to the next.
I can make a phone call and see if ol' Whiplash the Cowboy can bring his pose over there. Certainly he could use some excercises to keep his horses in tip top shape. I've seen him at the Angola Rodeo and is a sight to see. Below is a picture.

He has been in Jackson at the Dixie National before. I think it was a while back. Fun to watch him ride that dog

You are really getting a kick out of giving us updates every day, knowing over 90% of people on this forum could give 2 sh1ts. Aren't you? I'm actually starting to see why you support something as degrading as "hunting" tame ducks. You simply don't know any better. I hope and pray that every single duck in that brake dies before a shot can be fired opening morning....GOD BLESS YOU

YOU REALLY NEED TO STOP POSTING THIS!!!! Not only is it sickening to me and many others you are making all us duck hunters look bad to everyone else who gets on here and reads this crap. I mean if I never duck hunted before and saw this not only would I never support Delta Waterfowl but I would go around and tell everyone else that duck hunting is all about shooting a bunch of farm raised ducks.

please go to "mallard restoration project 2004" with a open mind. contrary to what many of you may believe, there are studies and evidence supporting bringing mallards to the area in large #'s (100's of thousan
ds).

Re: 3,000 ducks already
I am gonna say this, if Delta Waterfowl is in support of this Chicken $#!+ goat rope of a plan, and I see proof I will never give them another penny. I do have a plan though, if we all just quit posting this thread will partially go away. It may take time as it has occured to me that DIck Breathe(day break) is a lil below the intelligence curve and it will take some time for him to get the hint. Just my $.02
