I got tunnel vision just reading it. You handled yourself in a way that most would not be capable of. You should be proud of that. Now, I agree with the masses here. PRESS CHARGES. BEAT ON A JUDGE'S DOOR. CALL AN ATTORNEY, ETC. I would expect that his parents are telling you what you want to hear hoping that these things don;t happen and you will simmer down. Don't simmer down, he will do it to someone else's daughter next summer.

Redneckway offered assistance. He is a BIG OLE BOY!!!! And ugly too The sight of him will make dude crap his pants. Holler at him if you need him. A good whooping at a gas station by a stranger would be hard to trace back to you.

First of All I am sooo sorry that this happened to your daughter and your family.. Second of all congrats to you for having the control to handle things the way you did. I can tell you that I wouldn't of been able to do the same. He would of meet Mr. Dan Wesson inside his mouth and I would of let him know what the feeling was like to be abused. I just can't imagine that with a 14yo daughter myself. You are a good man!

I have four daughters- 3 of them teens- this really hit home for me. I am not sure I could have restrained myself after the SOB smarted off. You took the correct action. Like others have said, get a paper trail started. prayers for your daughter and family.

This kind of thing scares me to death as a father of two daughters. I really don't know what I would have done and don't want to predict, just pray I never have to find out.

I have had to come to my office at night to literally put ladies' teeth back in their mouth from that type of thing. Makes me sick to my stomach and is really hard to get over.

I tried to talk to law enforcement today and that is a no go. They wouldn't even talk to me and said she would have to call. So much for Tupelo PD.

This too is part of your paper trail. Now. Get a Lawyer. I would suggest the meanest, most venom-spitting, and hateful woman lawyer you can find.

I would also pursue pressing charges. Hopefully jail will scare the crap out of this kid and it will be a lesson learned. I just got out a 30 day stay in jail and most of the guys i was with not only promoted beating on women they were actually proud of it. So who knows the kid could come out a monster but lets just hope he learns a lesson, i know i did.

well its nothing im really proud of but i got hooked on pain killers about a year ago after oral surgery and i got caught with one in my pocket. I know not the smartest decision but im goin through treatment and trying to move on with my life.

you might ask if there is a woman she could talk to while she was there that can tell her "I thought everything would be okay and I loved him, but he kept doing it" from someone who actually went through it... not someone who just "knows" what happens...

Here is the most incredible thing if hitting my daughter wasn't enough. I ask if he understands me and he says, "No, I decide when it is over." Guys, I have never been so mad that I got tunnel vision and began trembling. I didn't touch him but said, "You do not want to F... with me cause I'm serious as cancer and will totally F.. your world." I tell my daughter to get in the truck and we leave.

I probably would've handled it pretty calmly until that point. I'd hate to know what I would've done. In today's crazy legal world you did the right thing. Years ago it would've just been handled by a few responsible men but those men are few and far between anymore. I'd recommend leaning on your daughter pretty hard to visit the PD.

If it's not over and he attempts to come in your house after her you have the right to defend yourself. I'm just sayin'.
