Daughter assaulted....

The parents called back today and assure me they have addressed the issue. They asked that I call them if there are any more problems. I think this problem is over but I won't be comfortable for another 7-10 days with no problems.

Thanks for all the comments guys. This was certainly an eye opener for our family and something we are going to teach the 3 younger sisters about. I encourage all of you, not only with daughters but with sons as it can happen to them as well, to educate your kids about dating and domestic violence and what to do. There has never been any sort of violence in our family and it was just something we assumed the kids knew about and it would never happen to us. Well it can and it be none of their fault's Tell them they can come to you anytime and you will help.

I'm very thankful she kept her cool and called me to come get her. She handled herself well.

Sure handled your self well which could be an asset if anything were to come of it further. I have a close friend that went through this with his daughter. I stated that I would have beat his booty to him, but saw in the outcome that handling it in a cool demeanor will have greater effects. They got every doctor bill they could plus therapy. It was by far the right move as the parents had no control over their kid said what the girls dad wanted to hear to keep his booty out of trouble. Someone mentioned a learned trait, in this case it is usually an example of the boys father. I am not saying always, but atleast degrading examples toward females. I would still find some way to make an official record. I know it is hard plus your daughter is an adult which his was not so he could handle himself. I just wouldn't trust the boy or his parents.
The kid had an expensive lesson to learn but I don't think that any other way could have curved his behavior for future women that he was around.

well i am glad its looks to be over with but if she is 19 then he is most likely over 18 and um he prob would have had a few stitches and maybe staples. I would have pulled a number 7 on his butt!!

I commend you for keeping your cool, it got my blood boiling just reading about it. My little daughter is only 3 months old and I can't begin to imagine what I would do in a situation like that. I hope that if that day were to come that I can handle it as calmly as you.

So sorry your daughter and family are having to deal with this!

And, congratulation (though, that isn't a strong enough word) to you for showing good judgment when it was probably the last thing you wanted to do, and for being proactive in making sure your daughter is able to deal with this in a healthy way. Praying she is able to move on soon and never deal with such again, that if she does she's aware of the warning signs, that there is healthy resolve to the situation, and that someone cares enough about that confused young man to steer him right as well.

Having two older sisters life was tough on a lil boy growing up in my house, but when i was 6, i whopped'em both and my dad left a perminant impression on why it is never, NEVER, NEVER EVER ok for a boy/man to ever lay a hand on a woman, no matter what the reason No matter how bad a temper i have!! it is simply unacceptable. and to this day the thought of striking a woman makes my gludious maximus ache rembering the whooping i got when i was 6

I would definatley start a legal paper trail to protect, your daughter(most of all) you, and the other women down the road

dang man! i hope that if i ever have to deal with a situation like this, i hope i can be the man that you were in that situation. Because knowing my hot headed self i would've prolly killed him.
