Berber fleece

Postby sab316 » Fri Jul 16, 2010 9:52 pm

My buddy bought a cheap Berber Fleece pullover from a guy for like $50. He does a fair amount of deer hunting and he knows it will be good for that. He just was wondering if anyone used it for duck hunting and didn't know since it was a bit fluffier (for lack of a better word) if it would be hard to consistently get the gun up to your shoulder without it catching on the fabric. If anyone has one or has had one, some input would be good.

This is what the jacket it: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templ ... tid=123239

I don't have a berber fleece jacket but i do have one from macks praire wings that is great. It has the windstop in it. It is the macks praire wings brand. It is the only jacket i wear duck hunting. it is not fluffy. if it wears out i will buy another one just like it.

It's great til it gets wet. I've got a DU berber fleece pullover with windstop in it and it's really good. If you ever get caught in a hard rain it weighs 50 lbs afterward, I sprayed it with blizzard proof stuff and that helped a little bit though.

I don't really care for natgear, but I LOVE this pull over.

The fleece will keep you plenty warm, but I hate wearing it b/c of all the crap that gets stuck to it while wading through buck brush or weeds.

+1

i love mine, yeah stuff sticks to it (extra camo), but it seems to still keep ya decently warm when wet( better than down or holfill), nothing beats wool when it comes to insulating you when you bust your booty and get wet though
