rising water is serious in my area...

Postby judge jb » Thu Nov 29, 2001 9:30 am

with over 10 in. total so far and another 6 to 9 in. predicted today for my neighborhood, it ain't lookin good... no way to get to the Shack without a chopper... several roads closed to the bottom, one church under water, and a farmer only has a few inches above water on 80 round bales of hay... will these floods put a damper on your favorie spot this weekend? i may have to shoot merganzers and shoverers off Lake Lot-of-Hockey...{the town lagoon} hahaha..... if i do i think i will donate my harvest to feed the hungy..... Geeezzzz.

Judge, I do believe this front is right over my house. It was about 60 degrees last night, then it warmed up at 6 this morning to 70 or above, now it is about 50 degrees outside. Yes, I fear that I will need a boat and some long decoy lines to hunt the hole that only last week didn't even come up to my dog's chest.

I am just going to throw some decoys out in my front yard. Plenty of water there. I am glad I have chest waders.

We haven't gotten the storms in B'ham yet but they are due to arrive this evening. Pretty good chance of tornados and heavy rain.

I plan to hunt in Miss this weekend (east side of the state) so I hope the river isn't all swollen up. My shallow backwater areas may be bigger lakes by Saturday!
